Don't skimp on the good cigars

Not always even referring to price. Keep an ample supply of what you consider to be the good stuff. They aren't just for special events, holidays, and vacations. You'd be surprised how much better you will feel when you get to the end of a really crappy day/week and you grab a treat-yourself cigar. Get one of those that you never want to end and it will really make all the difference.

I am not sure right now what I am going to pull for tonight but you can bank on the fact it will be one of my best.

End of PSA.

I'll keep that in mind.

Would you say my car would be happier if I use premium petrol as you call it over the pond?

Would my family benefit from organic veggies mate?

cheers!

I am sure there are a number of ponds betwixt you and me probably a few creeks, rivers, lakes, and mud puddles. I live 8 hours north of you.

I was driving a distance today. Smoking a Perdoma Cabinet Selection Torpedo. Cut it at an angle and it was pure heaven.
I was thinking that I should stock my humidors with nothing but the quality that I really like.
I think I am getting to the point where I can open any humidor and a superior smoke will await me.
Superior smoke does have a "price" associated with it...
But ....
I buy them as cheap as po$$ible.

It's when I try a new stick out that I may like it or not...
Ahhh the Perdomo...I should have smoked it on the porch...
Maybe I'll do just that...NOW :)

Sounds like you had one of those days/weeks. Hope your smoke is very enjoyable.:ss

Thanks Rolando. That is good advice. What's a cheap cigar if it doesn't taste worth a darn in the first place. Treat yourself to something worth smoking...it will make a difference every time!

Floyd your lack of reading glasses is just making this day worse. If your location is correct I live 8 hours NORTH of you in Ga.

Someone got the real point behind the thread. This has been a killer week. Not like bad things happening just a really tough week at work.

Had a 5 Vegas in hand, read your post proceeded to put it back and grab a 601 Blue maduro.:tu much much better. Thanks buddy!

Not really talking about buying cheap smokes. I am talking about the difference between the everyday smoke and the special occasion smoke. Make sure you have enough of the special occasion cigars to mitigate bad days and weeks.

I look at my cigars how I look at my beer. I'll consume less but better.

I've cut back on beer but I can't seem to cut back on cigars. Regardless, I never light one up unless it's worth it. I have literally thousands of cigars as a result of recent sales and I'm happy to smoke any of them at any time. Eventually I'd like to get to a place where I'm smoking only a few a week but they are top notch all the way. I'm talking Padron 1926s, Ashton VSG, God of Fires, aged cuban Bolivars and Partagas.

That is EXACTLY what I am talking about. 5 vegas is not a bad cigar. But it is the kind of cigar that you smoke when you will probably be distracted by something else. What you need after a bad day is one that will distract you. One you will savor. I made the mistake last night of pulling a CAO Gold dbl mad. Not bad and it didn't make it worse but it wasn't what I needed.

I think it is a Padron 64 M Imperial night.

You mean like this Anejo I am enjoying right now? Yep these are definitely my favorite Fuente smoke........:ss

thanks for your advice and I will save it for tomorrow, this week I was able to pick up some davidoffs and I might light one of those up.

I suppose this depends somewhat on how many cigars you smoke on any given day/week/month, etc. Where I live it is basically impossible to smoke all winter so I smoke few cigars per year and therefore try to find what I like and treat myself.

If my situation were such that I could smoke all day every day then maybe I'd be looking for some more value. Having said that I don't think I'd ever be a 4-8 'gar a day man so my story has become tiresome.....:chk

I agree, except I prefer liquor to beer. I'd much rather have a few high-end bottles to drink from occasionally than a cabinet full of cheaper stuff to swill all the time. I'm so new to cigars that I still can't decide what my favorite is, though. Oh well, guess I'll just smoke more. :ss

I just got my shipment of Cabinet Maduros. I am a fellow Perdomo Whore myself.

This is a great thread....and I think a good point that you touched on is that sometimes these great cigars are just as well, if not better suited to bring you out of bad times as opposed to commemorating special occasions.

this has been my philosophy for quite some time now, as well. while a few years ago i arrived at the point where i decided to not 'settle' for everyday cigars that are mediocre and upped the ante to smoke only good ones (at least by my estimation) i reserve friday nights for special cigars. last night was a CC punch churchill, ABR 04, which btw i'm still waiting to open up. unfortunately remains an uneventful smoke...
