Just livin' the dream...
I know a lot of people here subscribe and I wanted to hear other opinions on current or past issues.

I just received the Autumn 2008 edition and can't put it down. I've had my subscription for over 2 years, but this is one of the best issues IMO.

I'm a little disappointed that in their reviews section they gave out eight (yes 8) 5 - STAR ratings, when previously it was pretty rare to see one 5 -star rating per issue. I know they were sampling what they call "Luxury Cigars", but 8 is a little much.

While I have tried most of the cigars listed above, I have to disagree with their 'A class by itself" ratings of them.

The articles on Aging (pg.97), Connecticut Shade Wrappers (pg.79), Nicaragua (pg.83), and Rum (pg.49) were also very good reads. I think this is the first time I ever read this magazine from cover to cover in one sitting.

The brief write up on Illusione's ECCJ 15 (pg.22) has me searching for these this morning.
 
Excellent stuff again this month!

If you find one of the Illusione ECCJ, you will be very impressed. One damn fine smoke!
 
This magazine hits every category; content, presentation, etc.

I can't put them down, and re-read them all the time. They are a staple on my coffee table.
 
great idea for a thread. I really do need to get a subscription. Have read some issues, but need to just get it.
 
Might be a daft question but hey im good at them! Is it available in the UK, being as though its from europe id of thought so? Hence the daft question.:confused:
 
I picked up a copy late last year/early this year and enjoyed it. I thought it was cool to see a different side of the cigar world, which reminds me that I have to buy another copy. :tu

I LOVE the ECCJ! Top notch fellas (and nice too).

That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw the article as well.

If "5 star" is the top of your scale for reviews, I think the scale gets watered down if too many are given out. I include all the reviews in this, not specific to this article.

If 5's are given out like candy, then anytime a 5 is given in any article, it has far less meaning.

Great catch bro and glad it just wasn't me being picky.

I did see it at B & N once recently . This mag covers cigars and a little on pipes once in a while . It doesn't usually cover $500,000 Rolex watches that I've seen in my brief subscription , 1st year , just received the 4th issue . It's about tobacco growing , rolling , smoking and tobacco issues . It's not a "Lifestyles of the Rich and Super Rich" magazine , I haven't seen any Leer Jet ad's yet either . The only questions I have about it is , Do they print an all English version ? Or is the bi-lingual version the only issue for us English speakers to read ?
