Looks like Pete Johnson has another line out that's being produced in small quantities. I was curious if anyone has smoked these yet. I just pulled the trigger on a 5 pack from New Havana and I'm hoping they're worth it.
 
I spoke to Pete the other day and I have a few boxes coming to my shop in the next couple weeks. They may not even see my shelves:ss
 
My local shop just got these in today. I have been itching to pull the triger all day, I may have to give in a see what they are like.
 
I saw the prototype for these last month when Pete was in town. They are awesome and I am looking forward to getting the whole box.
 
just saw that new havana cigars is taking orders for these still. lots of places are already sold out. i have a fiver on the way to see if it's worth the hype and price.
 
These are good smokes. What they are is the Cabaiguan Maduro Belnd in a Lancero. Pete needed to release something to protect the trademark on the El triunfador name. That's why the release is so small and only in one vitola. IMO, these are much better than the regular Cabaiguan Maduros. Great job on this one Pete. :tu

read that from him not that long ago elsewhere. with the maduros going into full production next year i wonder if he will put these out again then, or if this is really just a one time thing. the cabaiguan 46 maduro's became a staple for me while grilling. i'm looking forward to my fiver coming in. might just order a box but i will find out tonight/tomorrow just how good these are.
 
I was given a few by a friend and although the lancero isn't my size of choice I couldn't resist giving these a try.

The first one I smoked was quite good; very enjoyable in all respects. The last two however had serious draw problems and rendered them barely smokeable.

just got a fiver from new havana and had to try one at lunch. had a slight draw problem, but not enough to be that bothersome. very nice full flavor, some pepper initially, but not overly strong. think this one will be in the regular rotation.
 
I order some of these a few days ago. They should be waiting for me when I get home. I don't know if I'll be able to wait to smoke one of these on the weekend!
