Finding humis on craigslist

Evolving Lead Gorilla
I have bought 4 humis on craigslist in the last month. One for me and 3 for friends. All of them under $50 and all of them held 100ct or more. Mine is a glass top Thompson that holds 150, I got it for $35. It holds RH very well, but it was all dried out when I bought it.

this is the exact one i got for $35

I've never really used craiglist because I thought it was a bit sketchy, but now I'll have to check it out. Sounded like a good deal!!

a long time ago, I got this one from there... I still use it.. picked it up for $100 and it's rock-friggin-solid. I love it.

this reminds me... a month or so ago someone posted a link here to a craiglist post involving a guy who was selling an old humi for $200 or BO.
i sent him an e-mail asking if he would take a trade for some really good cigars.
i told him i could make up a nice sampler of $200 worth of davidoffs, ashton ESG's and Padron 1926 Anni's. i also let him know i would sneak some ISOM sticks in there to be generous.
he responds by telling me he will do the trade for 1 box of davidoff, 1 box of ashton EGS's and 1 box of Padron 1926's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahahahahaha, i almost spit up my drink through my nose when reading that.
i than responded to him that my box of davidoff anni #3's(which were the davi's i planned on sending him) cost close to $400, a box of ESG's go for $650 and the padron anni's are $500 a box.
he wanted over $1,500 worth of cigars for a $200 humidor!!????
LOL
craiglist....makes me laugh sometimes..
(the kicker is after telling him the cost of what he wanted, he tells me he dont pay no retail!!)

Ahhh Craigslist.... for me its alternately fun and depressing as some of the stuff on there is pretty cool while other things scare the shit out of me. LOL

Found a decent deal on some pretty rare non-cigar stuff before but for me unless its hard to find I'd rather buy it from somewhere reputable as you never really know what you're going to get with sellers on Craigs List.

I've never been able to find any good ones in my area. Theres one that has been relisted like 15 times, but thats about it. On a side note, if anyone wanted to buy a wine/cigar bar in Westlake, its on there :r

Came across couple post lately of members finding a deal for a humi on Craig's list. Found an 'end table' humi the owner was asking $250, no humidification sys., if it were not for the long distance trip to pick the item up I was about to jump on the deal. Later checked some online humi websites and found simular humi, with shipping, would have came to about the same price. Still check Craig's list occasionally just in case. :pp

CL is a barter site... it's like Mexico... you're almost expected to barter. Great deals can be had there for sure... the humi I posted above was listed as $140, I grabbed it for $100. :tu

Sometimes they come in bursts of cheap ones...the one I got for $35 was originally offered at $100. People who get out of the lifestyle just want to get rid of their stuff. I have done it. I currently have a Bass Guitar that I used all of 6 times. I am going to let it go on CL, along with two Nitro RC cars. I love CL, these sales may help me get my first ISOM's! I have never tried one, I was going to get a 10 pack of Partagas P's or a box of the D's or a box of Montecristo No 2's. Never had them but see lots of good talk about them.

I sold a Fender Strat and an Amp on craiglist recently, it sold quick. I like that CL's is local you can always check stuff out before buying.

A neighbor of mine posted an ad for AC repair and cleaning, he's gotten several jobs out of it. Craigslist is an inepensive way to advertise services or post things for sale.

I just looked at CL, and no cool humidors in my neck of the woods......

I have to revisit CL , it's been a while for me . Last year I bought a Powermatic table saw and sold a color tv . You can buy ANYTHING on CL !
