I was looking forward to a cigar last night and had a random Fonseca Classic sitting in my humi from about 2 months ago when I purchased a sampler. It's a lot lighter in color than what I've found myself drawn to after several months of smoking cigars on a regular basis, but I decided not to judge the book by its cover. Pre-light draw was a bit tight and had a sweet taste. Uh-oh... I really don't like sweetness in my cigars. I cut it with a cheapo cutter and lit it up. The draw remained tight and the flavor was very bland... so much so that I was thinking about putting it out and just pulling out a tried and true RP Sun Grown. But I decided to give it a chance. The draw remained tight and the sweet undertone prevailed. I smoked through the first 1/3 hoping for a transition in flavor, but none ever came. It continued to be bland and the sweet taste never really went away though it did become less prominent. The smoke was thin and gray and it actually smelled better than it tasted (probably because I couldn't smell the "sweet"). I finally put it out about an inch and a half below the band because I got tired of fighting the draw for such a bland taste. Will definitely not smoke again... I'm still disappointed that I wasted my one cigar a week on such a dud.
