Fonseca Serie F Robusto

"The Serie F is a full-bodied beauty. The "F" is for "Fuerte" - Spanish for "strong" or "full flavor." The blend starts with a well-aged, dark natural Connecticut wrapper, and an intriguing long-filler blend of Tercio-Aged Ligero Cuban seed. It's a smooth and flavorful cigar that burns slowly and evenly - utterly relaxing."

I got a chance to just sit out next to the pool today and wanted to enjoy a cigar. My 40 ct Humidor is being over populated so I just reached in and grabbed the first thing that caught my attention. The Fonseca caught by having a nice Connecticut shade wrapper stuck in between a WOAM and a Maduro LGC Serie R. I hadn't had a connecticut in awhile so I figured it would be a nice change.

This is my first review and I'm still a bit new to cigars so my palet isn't he most adept to picking out this and that. While the quote above says that this is a full-bodied cigar, I would really like to argue that. I personally didn't think is was even really a medium, maybe somewhere between a "strong" mild cigar and a medium. The taste was pretty consitent with a sort of creamy "upfront" flavor, but it did have a peppery bite on the back of my togue which I did like. The after taste I have now is pretty damn good. I usually try to wash out my mouth for the girlfriend's sake after a cigar, but I really don't want to.

The only cigars I think I can really compare this to is a 5 Vegas Gold, which I really didn't care for as it was pretty mild and I felt I was tasting more air than anything else. And a Cabiguan, which I throughly enjoyed. At 1/3 of the price of a Cabiguan I guess this wans't really that bad of a smoke.

I do agree with the last part of the quote though, with this hot day in Georgia sitting out next to the pool in the shade of an umbrella, this stick completed the experience and it was "utterly relaxing."

I think maybe you grabbed a 5-50 instead of the series F. The 5-50 is indeed a mild cigar. Not bad in the morning but far from my favorite. The series F is not bad either but lately I have been passing on them in favor of something else.

Unless banded wrong or re-banded by CI, it was a Serie F.

Wow! Based on your description I thought for sure it was a 5-50. Do you have another stick you could photograph and post?

See, I can't admit I was WRONG!!:)

Avyer, i totally agree with you on the body of the cigar. I also smoked a serie F that i got from cbid (CI) a few days ago and i found it to be very mild. It was good, and i thought the construction was excellent, but way too mild for my tastes.
