before i got the beads i was checkin my cigars everyday worried about the rh....well now that i have beads how often do i need to check my smokes now that my rh is a steady 70 ?

The only time I check my humis RH is when I go in them to grab a smoke which is every day but on a serious note I do maintaince once a month if needed and that rarely happens

I usually check mine at least once a week, but if you've got a good seal, and it's been holding steady for a good while, then a month would be good.

I look through the glass dome and view my hygro everyday. So far it's been a constant 65-67 %. When it gets around 60% I will add some.

I just started using the beads for the first time 2weeks ago and i was checking it every couple of days, but i know they are a great product and dont need to check it no more cause it has the same reading always :)

I add water when my hygro reaches 59. I use 65 beads.
I do the same. Can't say the time. Varies depending on how wet or dry new additions are, how often the vinotemp cycles, and such. Easiest is just to watch the number and when it hits, I spray the beads. :tu

It depends on how often you open and close your humidor (ie: introducing ambient humidity into your relative humidity environment).

Also, the addition of cigars & boxes can raise and lower your RH.

I take a peek at my digital hygrometer ever time I grab a smoke and when it drops about 6%, I add a little distilled water.

I check the aging humidors every 1 month (they don't get opened much and hold very steady throughout the year) but only add distilled water about twice a year as need.

I hope this helps

I used to check it about once a week.
Now that I have a vinotemp and use beads, I upped to a wireless hygrometer.
That way I can look at the RH without opening the door.
I have 2 lbs of beads and some cigar boxes, cedar trays and shelves.
In the two weeks I had had it running I have not added any water to me beads since the initial spraying

If you are new you check it several times a day which is quite self-defeating. You worry that even dropping a single percent will destroy your stash. After a few months of that you check it maybe once a week and then before you know it once a month. Eventually you tell the little bastages if they want water so bad they should get up and get it themselves.

I have an active system plus beads in my cabinet and I still peak at it everyday, but more times than not it's to check the temp and not the Rh. My desktop gets checked about every two weeks if I am not pulling from it or just too busy to sit with a smoke.

My winadors are my humis and I open them quite often.
Despite that, I rarely have to do anything to them. They have glass doors so I check the hygros daily, I suppose. I'll take a look at them right now just because you reminded me. :)
