Fumadore by Don Pepin Garcia

Holts:
Our main man Pepin Garcia is a flat out stud. His brilliant style of blending has the cigar world awestruck! Pepin is currently gaining mass acclaim for his illustrious top-shelf cigars; however, his newest creation is a no-nonsense, mind-blowing value! The brand new Fumadores are handmade in Nicaragua and come in 3 fabulous sizes. Oily
clay-colored Ecuadorian wrappers hug a scrumptious blend of Nicaraguan Corojo, Criollo and Habano seed tobaccos. The Holt's Tasting Committee has gone totally bonkers over these cigars. In fact, we think these gems could be the finest cigars for the money in the entire industry! They're constructed sandwich style, yet burn and taste like 100% premium long-filler. It's remarkable. When you first fire up one of these bad boys your tongue is immediately met with a barrage of spices. As you continue to puff, your nose and mouth get furnished with an earthy aroma accented by wholesome hints of oak, apricot and cayenne pepper. Overall these cigars are medium to full-bodied with a rich, hearty finish. Pepin is currently making a plethora of fine cigars, but when it comes to value our Fumadores are unbeatable!

Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Flavor: Medium to Full
Wrapper: Ecuadorian
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Corojo, Criollo, Habano

This is a sandwich cigar made of mixed filler by Don Pepin and sold exclusively through Holts as a bundled (but box) cigar.

This review is based on a sample right off the truck. The wrapper is a dull light muddy brown with no visible oils. Overall bunching is very good for a mixed filler, but it still doesn’t quite have the look of a long filled handmade cigar. Nice cap, but the bunching and roll feel just a tad lumpy. The band is a faded blue/purple color with the word Fumadore running across the middle of an oval topped with the word Imported and Handmade running along the bottom. The initials JPG run under Fumadore to remind you of the creator. The cap clipped very nicely and the initial draw is good. Prelight aroma is feint, but the box had a peculiar and unenjoyable smell to it. Its not a cedar box, but a balsa type quality. Keep the box and just bundle the smokes!

Draw and smoke volume are very good. The flavor begins with spice, toasty earth and that typical flavor found in other Pepin smokes. Its quite good, but a tad muted as compared to the Blue and Black labels. The cigar burns fairly straight but quicker than normal. I did have a few inconsistencies with the draw and smoke volume as I went, but overall its quite good.

The ash holds fairly well considering the mix filler and wasn’t flakey. The ash is a light gray in color. The aroma is a spicy nutmeg/cocoa scent and is also very enjoyable.

There is a slight sweet cedary finish to this cigar, which I also liked.

Overall this is a very good cigar for Pepin whores, especially if you find the other brands slightly strong. This is a medium-full bodied, medium strength cigar of exceptional value. For a sandwich smoke, its one of the best I’ve had. I would definitely recommend these for the price, and I will order again.

Great review, I have only had one (gifted) and I really enjoyed it. MCS, you won't be sorry.

Thanks for the review I've been wanting to try these and you have given me the push I needed.

Great review. I recently had a pack of these and they were a very good smoke. They needed a month or two to get a really great taste though.
