Good Torch for the buck.

LORD PUFFER

Lowland Gorilla
This will be my first post. I have smoked on and off for about 10 years. Does anyone recommend a good cigar lighter for the money. I have owned many in the past, but all seem to have the same life with the same troubles. I have owned Colibri, but have had problems with the fuel line. I also am not in the market for a Dupont or any high end luxury lighter.

Hi there, a lot of the guys around here use a Prince PB-207 or a Dupont xtend.

Tip: use the search, that button will give you a lot of answers on a lot of questions.

I had a triple flame I picked up at JR's for $6.(Nibo knockoff, I think) The one that has led's that light up when you open the lid. It lasted a year and a half. I dropped it one too many times and it fell apart recently. I will get another. Colibri's suck! :)

I lose waaaaaaay too many lighters to not be a BIC fan.

Welcome ...... Good to have you here. Find your way to the "new gorilla forum" and let some fine folks get to know ya !!

Blazer Lighter, for the money you can't go wrong.

Great lighter and holds a lot of fluid. I love mine. The most dependable lighter I have owned to date.

I agree, the PB-207 is definitely a greaty lighter....jus picked one up recently myself and no complaints so far

My Nibo is excellent...can't go wrong the the dual or triple torch. :) I've had no problems with this one, but have with some Blazer and colibri's I've had.

Colibri's suck! :)

I have a dissenting opinion on that one. I have a firebird that I have only filled with Vector, never once a sputter and lights first try. Maybe I just got lucky from all the bad things I have heard. I also have a Ronson that is a great cheapo torch.

I got one of the Ronson's at Wal-Mart, so far so good and I only paid like 4 bucks for it or something cheap. Welcome!!!!

If you want it fast and cheap, get the Ronson at Wally World. For $4, it's not too bad. My primary lighter, though, is a PB-207. Great f'in lighter. Wait until someone does another group buy for them, though ... you'll save a bundle.

The key (as others have alluded to) is to use good fuel in whatever you buy. I really like the Vector Quintuplus fuel (available at cigarmony.com) is awesome.

Welcome and best of luck. Be sure to post a welcome thread if you haven't already.

The most reliable lighters that I have been able to find in 16+ years in the hobby are:

ST Dupont Xtend (of course the Line 1, Line 2, Gatsby and D Models go without saying)
Blazer PB-207
Xikar's Executive (lifetime warranty and only costs $20)

Hope this helps

have a ronson wally world cheapo, 8 months w/no problems-also 2 colibri fiurados included w/box from jr-no problems w/either-i always use colibri gas but i've heard vector's good too

Other than a bic, I've only used the jetlite by ronson. A couple of times there having been problems, purged the air, problem goes away. They work better when warm, so I make sure it's kept in my pocket and not sitting out (when in the garage).

Best price=Wally world ronsen
You'll also like the blazer pb-207 and cg-001( my favorite all around lighter:))
The ST Dupont x-tend is awsome, If I have to dress up, that's what I throw in my pocket.

I've had all kinds of lighters; Colibri, Nibo, Z-Plus insert, and various no names. All have fallen short for one reason or the other. Then I found the PB-207 and all my lighter problems were taken care of. I can't recommend the PB-207 enough. All of my other lighters are just taking up space in a drawer now.

I like my PB-207 except for the "wind resistant" claim.

If I just look at it cross-eyed it'll go out.
