Gurkha grand age

Now this is another old favorite of mine. Smoking it as my post Vikings victory smoke.
Again not the easiest smoke to get. I bought 2 boxes from my source in Miami and got the very cool wodden boxes with it.

8 year old cameroon wrapper very delicate. Nic and peruvian tobacco. Smooth. Very clean finish. Doesn't leave a big after taste. Much better as a Churchill than the Perfecto. Which is odd. I usually like perfectos. Lots of flavor awesome smoke one of my 5s

Yes that puts 2 gurkhas in my 5 category. Maybe my next 5 review will be of a non Gurkha 5

Quality of Gurkha has picked up recently, from what I can tell. Just fired up a Black Puro that is really smooth, which has not been common in Gurkha's other than the Triple Ligero.

Tried a G3 a few months ago and really thought dog rocket. I'll have to expand my Gurkha experience.

If you want a good Gurkha. Do go after a lower end one then judge the whole line by it.

Have a beast. Or a grand age. Or a black dragon. Dragonfire. Regent. Or master select reg or maduro.

Awesome

I enjoy the Symphony with a cup o' joe in the morning or early afternoon. The 101 maduro is a nice after dinner stick as well.

I've had one Grand Age, and liked it very much indeed. Mine was a perfecto though, will have to look for one in the churchill vitola.

I went to a Gurkha event here in L.A. not too long ago. I didn't sample the Grand Age, but I bought one to try. My wife sampled a Status Churchill (nice big smoke in a frosted tube) and it was smooth and mild. I had a G3; I think they said it was their most full-bodied smoke. It was a good smoke.

I ended up winning a full box of G5 Avenger's which I like a lot (which is a damn good thing because I'm relatively new at this and that's a lot of the same cigar for me). The box is awesome too. I wonder if it would make a decent humidor. I'm not sure. Thing looks like a spaceship and there's no cedar in there at all.

At that event, I also bought a Gurkha Black Dragon Robusto (pretty good), a Warlord (huge log of a cigar which I have yet to smoke), a Grand Age and a couple others including the cognac-infused.

All in all, I think they make some nice smokes and some great looking, albeit nontraditional, cigar boxes.

Warlord may prove to be disappointing. Though a decent smoke no where near the beast (another large vitola) or the blac dragon.
