Help Please

Bill Slangton

Newbie in the jungle
Hi all, my name is Bill Colizza and I have never smoked, well anything I am soon to finish my last year of collage. I have asked you here for some big help. I have a younger bro that is a member of this forum and it is his senior prom coming up and also his high school graduation. So for that I would like to get him a sweet cigar related gift and this is where I need your help. He is going out of state for a week or so, so I feel this is the best time to post this. He has told me all about this site how every one here is so nice and caring. I also have read some of the posts so I have an idea on how thing work. I want to get him one of those boxed that you put your cigars in. A nice big one the one he has now is really small and close to empty. On account of all his friends that he is sharing with. I would like to fill it full of cigars so when he sees it his mouth hits the floor. So hers where I need your help. I know nothing about cigars what’s good what’s bad and I need some advice on such. Also if any one has any extra cigars sitting around I would not mind taking them off your hands, as 150 cigars is a lot to get. Anything will help. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks so much.

welcome to the jungle....

I'm sure a lot of people can help you with information.
I bet you will be able to find a nice humidor in the WTS forum.

Keep in mind that you are new, so you have to still 'prove' yourself, and this might require you to send payment first if you want to purchase from other people on here.

Try the New Gorilla Forum for an introduction and a little information about how things work around here in the stickies.

Good luck with your quest, very nice gesture for your brother :tu

Welcome!

How long has your brother been on Club Stogie? Maybe you could read some of his posts or see Threads that he has visited to get an idea of what he likes to smoke.

If he has been trading with other gorillas then you have a big advatage right there. Look at his Trader Feedback (click the number under his avatar).

Good luck!!!

Welcome to Club Stogie Bill!

Nice thing you are doing for your brother here... Some good advice has already been given, but I suggest you check out some of the bigger online retailers to get an idea of humidor prices. Please avoid the temptation of cheap ebay humidors as they are generally no good.

I think you should definitely look into what your brother smokes... It would be awesome to stock his present with a bunch of favorites. Maybe also take a peek at what he currently has & use that as a guide.

Another good resource once you have decided on what to get is Cigarbid... Kind of like ebay for cigars only 10 times more addictive ;)

I am soon to finish my last year of collage.

O really?:r

haha, sorry, couldn't resist.

I make more typos than anyone, just jokin around.

I never got any presents for prom :(

I think it would be a good idea to call him and say "hey, I wanna try a cigar, what are your favorites?"

hmm. Instead of saying what I'm thinking, let me say this instead. Well, the really nice thing about having cigars as a hobby is you don't have to get them all at once. Part of the fun is the acquiring of them with your hard earned cash. Especially this early in life it should help your bro to learn how to budget his money and not overextend himself on nicities.

The lists given above should give you some good ideas of where to buy cigars at a good price for your brother.

BTW, who's your brother on the forum?

is that so he doesn't see this?

Man I had one of thoes today, and I have to say it was the best smoke I have ever had. Till today I have never really been able to tast different thing that I hear more experenced smokers describe. But with this one I could tast it. It started slow having a nipple tip. Kind of tasting like wood but one inch in and it opened up to a world of flavors that I loved. It was sweet, then I could tast chocolat, I was shocked. I think I got it from Volt so thank you again. Now i just have to get my hand on some more.

It looks like your brother recently posted this about Aristoffs. If you search for these online, you could purchase him a box of these. I think that would be a great present for him. Hope this helps you out.:tu

I know you are new, but better to learn now then later that asking for cigars is really bad form. Not that that is out of the way, the list above should be a good place for you to start for decently priced cigars

there was a similar post (similarin my humble opinion) about a guy whose cigars and humidor were stolen that people were responding to today. Good luck finding your brother some smokes. Try finding recent posts made by him and seeing what cigars he likes. A lot of guys here have given you some good info. Keep searching for your bro, I'm sure he'll be happy w/ whatever you get him.:cb

Bill - Mosey on over to Tobacco Grove in Maple Grove. They can help you learn a lot real fast, and they have a huge humidor. I see your from Minnesota, so I am assuming a bit with a Twin Cities location.

Also, TCCigars here runs a store that sells over the net and he has his house brand, Taboo Cigars. He offers great deals to CS members and I have no doubt you can pick up 150 cigars from him for a great deal (2-3 bucks per cigar probably).

You can also find very cheap cigars elsewhere, but not necessarily good ones. Even bad cigars will be $1 per cigar so at 150 cigars you are looking to drop some cash.
