Help with winter smoking...

I have to decide what I'm going to do this winter now that Minnesota has gone smoke free...I want to get some type of heater that I can use in the garage to keep me warm while smoking..I think some type of radiant heater may work..I am not looking to heat the whole garage (triple) just to make it bearable....

When you say Minnesota has gone smoke free, are you saying they prohibit smoking in one's home? Why not just create a room designated for enjoying gars? I know that Ohio went non-smoking in all establishments last year... and it's taken a toll on a lot of business and such.

I have a radiant heater that screws on to a 20 lb propane tank that I use in my barn. It works pretty well. I've used it when it was near zero outside and I could work inside without having to wear gloves or a heavy coat or anything. I got it at Lowe's for around 30 bucks.

Stand up for yourself !!!!! March right into the house, tell your wife *who* wears the pants in this family, Grab your favorite stogie out of the humidor and procede directly to your comfy chair ...... in the garage ...... with a space heater.

:tu

Something with a fan might be good so you won't need to wait for the entire garage to heat up...

I will have this problem too. Except I don't have a garage, because I live in an apartment, in Minneapolis....

I have a large kerosene heater. The round one about 3 feet tall. I d have to crack a window or the garage door, but it warms to where I can set very comfortably.

I have used the small round green heaters that you attatch a small propane to inside my tents while winter fishing before. For a garage I would say place to around you. They heat really well.

Get one of those that shut off if they fall over, and make sure you have fire insurence, :)

Drink Knob Creek You won't mind the cold :r

Exactly!

You can probably find it cheaper, but here is the first link I found.

The great thing about these is the propane lasts and is easy to find and keep on hand. Heats fast. Portable. Notice to that if you tilt it backwards, it doubles as a nice burner for camping, power outage, etc.

Its a garage.

Any small space heater will do.

Trust me I know. I smoke in the garage all the time.

If you really want to make it bearable quick, I would recommend a kero jet heater, also called a salamander heater (who knows why?). You can wind up with a sauna in a 2 car garage in under half an hour and it will keep the air moving around pretty well too. That’s how we survive working on cars in the northeaster during our main season. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I have 2 large table-top butane heaters I put on my back deck table.
If it's too cold for that, I have "Manland", an extra space in my garage with an electric heater, fan & CD player.:)

Man, I miss the days of being able to smoke in dorms. When it's college time, and the winter rears its ugly head, I get the short end of the stick and have to stand out in the bitter cold just to smoke a stogie. No garage for us hard-learnin' chumps. Good luck with your search, Jerry. May you find a way to keep your hands warm and your cigar warmer!

down here in houston, we use a small electric space heater for those cold winter nights(yes, one or two roll by every couple of years believe it or not), it works well enough, and cost around 50 bucks
