High School Reunion Cigar?

zackly

Maturing Primate
Saturday evening is my 40th high school reunion. I plan to make all the girls who rejected me back then see their error in judgment!
There is a nice patio at the place the dinner is being held & the weather forecast is great so I want to bring a box of cigars to the affair.
Here’s my dilemma:
Most guests will be occasional smokers who don’t know Rocky Patel from Rocky Balboa, so I want to offer a good mild-medium smoke that everyone can enjoy.
I want something that will at least reasonably please & impress the cigars smokers in the crowd.
Most people probably won’t want to spend a long time outside so I’m figuring a robusto or even a corona size. Any suggestions on a cigar? Budget $150.00 for a box.
The other problem is that I want cigars in prime condition to smoke, that is not too moist.
I prefer to buy on the internet but most online retailers ship their wares very moist.
If I order today & get them Friday will spreading them out in low humidity (my basement hovers around 45% rh) for 24 hours dry them out enough? Is that too much of a shock to the wrappers?

Hmm... I've always found Romeo Y Julietta's to be a good all around cigar that most seem to enjoy.

A fine cigar to pass out that meets the cost, strength, and readiness requirements. As far as spreading them out in the basement..... it wouldn't hurt, but may not be necessary.

While the size isnt' one of my favorites (I prefer the torps or double coronas), it should meet the time constraints.

Myself, I would get the torps and let 'em pitch 'em if they're not done. Chances are they would finish them though since they're a good smoke. Unless the cheerleaders of High School past start handing out table dances... :D

I just love these things..... and I smoke a lot of better stuff too.

Have fun at the reunion.

Plan ahead for next reunion..... If ya had more time, I would suggest a box of Monte #4s. :tu They wouldn't be here in time for Saturday though.

I would go with either a box of Oliva G, or a box of Ashton's (on the upper end of your budget - but a classy mild cigar).

Althought they are extremely mild, they are pretty cheap. I'd go with Helix. Cool looking box to make all those hip cats wow! Even the chicks might dig on one.:tu

Padron 4000 natural can be had for under $150.00

Good construction and a good cigar right out of the box.

I would consider a larger cigar, they don't get hot like the smaller ones and will maintain their flavor. Most people don't smoke them to the end anyway.

Oh! and good luck with the ladies.......Killer!! :tu

I'm not sure that was exactly what he was going for, Jimmy... :D
It's his 40th class reunion, that puts him and his classmates in their upper 50s,... therefore, those cheerleaders might bust a hip if they start table dancing like Stu suggests.

I think that having something shipped in time and not be too wet in the filler might be a hard thing to do.
Time to visit a B&M that is friendly?

These broads are pushing 60!
I'm more interested in their daughters:cbThey had the upper hand when they were freshman & sophomores dating upperclassman. Now it's the guys who rule this demographic, at least the one's with most of their teeth & not in Depends yet.
Payback is a bitch, as they say
