honeymoon/Cruise/Cigars/USA!

Cigarin-Martin

Hi just wanted to let you all know my cigar slope will be getting steeper soon thanks to getting married in august! We are going on a cruise starting in New York (newark) going to Halifax (Nova Scotia), Saint John (New Brunswick), Bar Harbour (Maine), Boston (Massachusetts), Newport (Rhode Island), then back to New York for 2 nights!! The ship has a cigar bar on it!!
This is a dream come true to marry the lady of my life and visit the only country in the world i ever wanted to visit! The dream of visiting America started at an early age buying "Plastic Man" comics and wishing i could buy things like "sea Monkeys!!" and see where all the cool tv programs were made!
I hope to buy a few souvenirs like hopefully a humidor, cutter & lighter etc! I am going to try to buy a "club Stogie" cap in beige so if you see a tourist walking round (with a beautiful wife on his arm!) your town with his jaw on the floor wearing a cap you'll know its ME!!
My cigars so far are (dont laugh!):-
La Paz- gran corana
Luis Martinez- hamilton robusto
Quorum- robusto
Don Tomas- rothschild
La Invicta- maduro
Kennedy- corona
Chinchalero- perla
Jose L Piedra- petit cetros
dominican Selection- corona
Well we have to start somewhere!
Sorry for the long post but had to share the excitement!!:bl
Cheers Martin:ss

Congrats on the marriage and an exciting honeymoon! Do you not have a humidor, cutter or lighter now? If not, those are probably things you should think about getting before the trip rather than on the trip so you can keep your cigars cared for.

No not got humidor yet, i have a basic cutter n lighter but yes i know what you mean but id like to get them from the US as a memento from America!:tu

Congrats on the marriage!! Glad you're excited to visit the Good 'Ole USA! I truly hope your time here is as memorable as my time in the UK while serving in the US Navy.

Only real recommendation I have, get a travel humi, like this one to store your smokes while on the ship. Just my :2 though.

Hi Martin, your title: honeymoon, cruise, cigars, pretty much sums it up, 'life is good', how good can it get. :tu Congrat's, the best to you and the Miss. :bl

Congrats on the Marriage. I am getting married next sunday, and I am also taking a cruise to Alaska for our honeymoon. I plan to smoke some serious cigars on the cruise. I wish you the best of luck as you start your new life, with your new bride.:tu

Congrats on the marraige!! I just got married last night!! We enjoyed a great CC during the festivities (Romeo y Julieta). We're leaving on Wednesday for Mexico, I can't wait to see what other smokes I'll be trying. Good Luck!!

Congratulations! Sounds like a really great time!

My gf told me once that when we got married, she wanted to have a mini cigar bar for all the guys at the reception. That was the day I realized I would be with this girl forever! :r

Congratulations!!! Be careful, a lot of cruise ships are advertising cigar bars, but when you get on, its smoke free, and they have you in a corner, outside, on the back of the ship......

I am of Canadian descent (my mother was from Newfoundland), and I have been to both of the Canadian cities you are going to. Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle of Newfoundland Screech while you are there. It is at once the smoothest and most potent rum you will ever get your hands on. The name comes from the reaction of the foreign sailors the first time they taste it. Seriously, if you make a mixed drink with it, use half to two-thirds as much Screech as the recipe calls for rum. Screech is only available in the maritime (eastern) provinces of Canada and a couple of US states (Maine being one of them). My last bottle is gone, unfortunately.

Enjoy your trip.

:tpd:

Just returned from a Holland America cruise. Area inside where cigar smoking was/had been permitted had just been removed. Exiled outside to the stern of the Lido deck to do our smoking. :BS.

BTW HAL provided a smoking survey form at the end of the cruise with one of the questions asking passengers if they would like a no smoking cruise policy across their entire fleet of ships.

Thanks for all your good wishes people.Il take ya tips on board (ha ha).
Just gotta go on "search" to see what B&M's you guys recommend in the areas il be visiting!
Cheers Martin:ss
