How Come...

How come the three salt tests that I did returned 3 different results on each of my two hygrometers?:al

Thanks,
Shawn

Probably b/c you didn't wait long enough. But if they were within a point or two, then b/c that is as accurate as they are; +/- 1 or 2 points.

I just did a salt test on one of my hygrometers, I did the test for over a day, what I noticed i was the hygrometer would stay between 70-71, so I know my hygrometer is 4 to 5 points low.

The changes in the raedings during your test could be the result, of temperature changes, water to salt ratio, size of container your using to test in, etc....

I dont stress over this type of stuff, I use Beads, salt test my hygrometers, and if I'm off 1 or 2 percent it's no big deal.

I aways had that problem when using ziplock bags, what I do now is use a good tupperware and put in a dark spot and let it set for 24 hrs:pp

Sounds good...I think I may do 1 more test and then just deal with those results.

First post was pretty painless...thanks for all the help.

Good luck with that. I had the same problem when I was trying to calibrate one of my hygrometers. Every time it read the same (which wasn't what it should have been reading). You just have to remember what percentage it is off by.
