How hard is it to post a descriptive title?

Custom Titles Suck
One of the bad things about this board is that there are so many threads who's titles give you absolutely NO idea what the content is.

How hard is it to post a descriptive title?

If your title gives an indication of what the thread is about, readers can then decide if they want to enter or not. If you use a non-descriptive title, you are either pissing off posters who click on the thread and find it's about something different then they thought, or you are missing out on valuable input and discussion from posters who will ignore it entirely.

Here are some examples:
I don't mean to single anyone out, so if you are offended to see your thread here, sorry, but maybe you need to think about your thread titles a little harder.

lol lol, Stale Smelly Cigar, ha ha ha
High as a kite.
What to do with a rebate...mmmm...
I've done it now.

I disagree, this is a forum.. where people post topics. If the posts 'piss you off because of the title' you've got some serious anger issues.

You have a choice on whether you want to reply or not, just like there is a forward/BACK button on your browser.
 
Vague post titles are kinda like opening up a wrapped gift that you never expected on x-mas day. They might surprise you...or let you down!

People I think all he is saying is there is nothing wrong with the posts, just the topic is not descriptive enough and to find out what the post is about, instead of skimming topics you have to open each one. I saw another thread about this the other day.:2

Regardless of content which I've read.. I think the title is fitting
 
Now correct me if I am wrong here but what is the energy of a click???

There are lots of posts with descriptive titles that are still just crap and some of the great threads have vague titles.

I figure its an open forum and you go with the flow allowing people to enjoy each others comments and quirks without condemnation and frustration.

But that is just me.

You can't change what people are going to do. This has come up in the past here and on other forums I frequent and it's the nature of the beast. How many 1000's of members does CS have? It's like a city and you'll like the way some people do things and not care for the way others go about their business. If it really bugs you, why even click on a non-descript title in the first place?
