How hot is "too hot"?

It's not so much the heat that gets to me its the humidity. 85 and muggy here in minnesota is intolerable. I just retreat to inside my apartment or the B&M that I call work. But I'm a cold weather person myself.

Wife is out shopping, kids are asleep for their nap, but its 102F outside, so I'm passing on my weekend ritual in favor of an afterdinner, nighttime smoke.

I get no enjoyment out of smoking and sweating.

Haven't found too hot or too cold to be a deterrent yet. Triple F and my self have shared a few smokes in the Florida heat as well as huddled in a corner at the in-laws this past winter with some bushes to break the bitting wind.

As long as it's not cold and I feel like a crackhead huddled next to a fire trying to stay warm I am good. The heat doesn't bother me that much.

i smoke between 11pm and 3am, but im a night shifter so im wide awake at those hours. cool, quiet, and relaxing. :tu

I just bring a towel with me to wipe the sweat from my head every 30 seconds. And no, that's not a joke.
:tpd:Ah, the old sweat towel. I carry one of those almost everywhere. The curse of being uber-fat I suppose, haven't had heat talk me out of an outdoor smoke yet. I prefer inside most of the time though :tu

The heat doesn’t bother me to much but when the humidity is high (+90%) I find it hard to keep my cigar burning correctly or at all for that mater. I guess the tobacco just soaks up all that humidity and doesn’t want to burn? I use a fan to cool off a well.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. Bring some of that heat towards Washington. We've had basically a second winter from April till now, and it still looks like we'll be lucky if we see temps above 55 or 60 within the month (GWMA= Global Warming, My Ass). I'm at the point were I'd rather sweat my ass off then freeze it off anymore. May need to gather some extra funds and head south for a little while, melt the frost off. Have fun in the heat and enjoy the outdoors while you can. Find a good shady spot to smoke a stogie, with a tall glass of Ice Tea or an Arnold Palmer.

If I didn't smoke in the heat, I wouldn't smoke very often. I have seen it hit 123 here, and days from 105-110 are pretty much the norm once summer sets in.

Hard for me to smoke outside and be comfortable past 75 degrees. Won't be smoking much these next few days except at work maybe.

you get to smoke at work? awesome!

yea it got to around 100 here in manhattan... just couldn't enjoy a cigar in that kind of heat

I am actually outside smoking right now b/c it is cooler out here than in the house. Our A/C has been out of order since Friday.:hn:hn

That's what I love about the desert. It's cliche that it's a dry heat, but it makes a big difference. Having grown up in northern Florida and experiencing temps over 100 with 90+ percent humidity, I definitely feel the pain of my eastern BOTL. It's a lot different when those triple-digit temps come with 5-15 percent humidity.

Ours went out today. And the repair company had just come out to replace the fan blade and a bunch of other parts on our A/C condenser when those busted 2 weeks ago--warranty company wouldn't replace the unit, even though it's 20+ years old and they were told it's beyond the useful life! Bastards.

102 today, 104 tomorrow. So now it's almost 10:00, we're sweltering at 81 indoors, 66% humidity, and no hope of even opening the windows tonight for relief.

I said screw it and had a hate-smoke out on the porch tonight.

Sorry for the rant. I'm pissed, because it's not the first time this warranty company has refused to replace a covered item when it would have been the right thing to do. They're either too greedy to fix it right the first time, or they're too friggin incompetent to understand that a band-aid isn't enough to stop an arterial wound.

i'm in TN and find it too hot to smoke after work. It's like 90 degrees outside and no matter what the humidity is, I just find the elements sometimes a little bit much.

I had a cigar today in 99 degree weather. I will never do it again. Luckily it was only a 5 Vegas Shorty, I would have died if it was a full size cigar.

I've been standing in my shed working on a few projects while it's 90 out. Must be about 500 degrees in there.
A cigar cools me off. :tu

High heat takes away from my enjoyment of a stogie. When it starts getting hot, I'll smoke one in the early morning as soon as I head out to the office. I'll smoke another one late at night on the roof of our office building just before I get ready to hit the shower and head home.

It's was in the 90s last night with high humidity and no breeze, but I was all set on enjoying a cigar. Started with a cold beer and then switched to water in an attempt to stay cool. The mosquitoes started biting, so I got out the bug spray and kept smoking, but about an hour into the smoke, I was just too hot and uncomfortable, so I gave up on the smoke and retreated into the AC.
