Hoyo de Monterrey review

I found a Hoyo de Monterrey "Hoyo de Tradicion" Epicure 5.2X 50 that had rested in my Humi for several months and was trying to hide from me! I picked it up & noticed the beautiful light brown sheen to the cigar & a very pleasant, "woodsy" aroma. After lighting, I noticed a touch of bitterness that resolved after the first 1". Draw and burn were very easy & smooth. I detected a touch of spice initially, then a smooth, sweet, nutty, "cashew" taste. Delicious! I had to touch up the burn 1/2 way through the cigar, and it burned fairly evenly til its demise 1.5 hours later. I would characterize this cigar as medium-bodied, with a very rich, smooth, sweet nutty flavor & aroma. A definite smoke to stock up on! A box of 20 Epicures will run $101 @ www.cigarsinternational.com.

Overall rating 9/10 with 1 point taken off for the slight burn issue. Try one!!!
