Yellow is usually for temp control... :ss
Yellow is the speed sensing. Its so your mainboard knows the fan is spinning else it gives an alert.

i wanted a little more active humidification and some fans for my wine-o-door so that is why i purchased this unit over the cigar oasis.
over all i'd say it's a nice unit and for the money can't be beat.
now i just need to get a bigger cabinet.
I ran a hydra for a few months and was not very impressed. I like the adjustability but that was all really. The co has a fan option now and seems to be of better quality to me. I just installed the co extend (custom made tank by aristocrat Humidors!) and it moves up to six times the air flow! Super nice unit from bob at aristocrat using co technology! Check that put before you buy anything. Just my .02
I just read this thread and decided to call Quality Importers (the manufacturer of the Hydra) to get his thought on this.
I hope this helps.
