I love the smell of Spanish cedar in the morning

GWN

Take off, eh?
Spend much of yesterday doing major sanding on my new cabinet, spurred on by the smell of the cedar that will eventually line it.
My pop put the box together (and one for himself) using some beautiful black walnut boards gifted to him. I'm finishing it off.
A bit more sanding and I can start prepping it for exterior finish. Still not sure exactly what I'll do. My neighbour's a cabinet maker and offered use of his brand new spray booth.
Once the outside's finished, I plan to insulate the interior before installing the cedar.
Hardest part now is to take my time and do it right rather than rushing to get it done.

Looking good Bro!

The only thing better than the smell of spanish cedar is the smell of spanish cedar and cigars!

......In the morning of course :D

I hope you are using a good respirator. Spanish cedar dust is has extremely fine particulates, which can be highly toxic.
BTW, the project looks great!:tu

That is great. I have a shop full of Black Walnut and I have been thinking of dooing a nice cabinet Humi. I think you have just pushed me over the edge on that idea. Nice work, keep us posted on the progress.:tu

Stained and lined with Spanish cedar.
A bunch of coats of varathane tomorrow and I'm into the home stretch.
Hydra, Oust fans and Heartfelt beads waiting in the wings.
