it looks like my town will most likely adopt a smoking ban for all restaurants and bars, this sucks, it hasnt come into place just yet, but its looking like it will be very soon. my emotions are best summed in these emoticons :c

very few restaurants allow cigar smoke around here (that I know of)
Yepp, this is a normal thing here in Cali.

We have to go outside to smoke.
Luckily, it never gets too cold.

We're not supposed to smoke like a certain distance from buildings too,
but the cops don't usually enforce it and give you a ticket
unless you look like trouble.

how many have you gotten so far:r

I feel you bro... just the nature of the way things are turning now. Houston isn't as bad as Austin, where it's completely band, but I can now only count the cigar friendly places in this big city on two hands. It's definitely cut into my cigar smoking frequency...

Welcome to the club. It has already hit several counties in Maryland and I expect more are to come. DC's ban went into affect on Jan 1st.

Cigar shops opening lounges are the way to go. They are exempt!

By the way, if they ban smoking in my car or my home I am moving to Greenland!

Yeah this anti smoking aholes are really running rampant these days. I live in a town in the deep south where the per-capita income is less than 20k a year, the obesity rate is around 70% and fast food is king. They have banned smoking in all public buildings, bars, pool halls etc. and no-one is doing a damn thing about it. All the bars have a huge crowd standing outside smoking, but you can't take your drink out or the cops bust you for open container violation. Meanwhile the Churches keep getting bigger to house us sinners who are just trying to unwind from a hard days work and have to break the law to do it. Things have just gotten stupid. I can understand the restaraunts and shopping centers where there are lots of little kids and healthy wannabe types, but bars and pool halls! What do people think goes on in there, reading of the bible and poetry? It's ok to get drunk, get behind the wheel and kill yourself and others, as long as you don't smoke? I don't go out to my favorite haunts anymore, if I can play pool and gamble hundreds of dollars a night but not smoke my favorite cigars while I do it, then to hell with it. I drive to New Orleans to eat, gamble and smoke pretty much wherever I want. I do my level best not to spend a recreational nickle in my hometown. If they take away my freedom, I'll take away my cash and spend it elsewhere. I'm lucky to have profession that will allow me to work just about anywhere, so if they ban smoking in my cars or home, I'm outta here.

Big Brother is coming to a town near you! MD and DC are getting hit also. I figure if the politicians have to deal with it too, then good fer their arses.
