OK. I've read the reviews here. I have smoked a handful of the 68s and really like them. I'm interested in the following cigars in the Illusione line, and I would like your feedback and recommendations:

88
f9
cg:4
mk
hl

Thanks,

Bill

I have had the 888 and the CG-4, and I like the CG-4 the best, but I'm sure they are all great smokes, IMO.

They're all great but the 888 (AKA "Necessary and Sufficient") churchill is my pick -- it's not as bold as some of the others until the last third, but it's still pretty spicy and very smooth. One of my favorite cigars. From the sizes listed I'd pick the f9.

(I haven't tried the mk or hl yet... hope to soon.)

the f9 is the only one i have had and i really enjoyed it, seeing as i usually go for smaller ring gauge cigars.

cg:4 from the ones you list....my favorites so far....4/2g (Double Corona), m7(Diadema), and the 888 (Churchill)...I like the long smoking Illusiones...and I cannot wait until August for the release of the new Cruzado line by Dion...

The Illusione is a staple of my collection- I must always have an F-9 to go to. It's the cigar I grab when I want a strong smoke. Over time I've come to realize its much stronger then I first thought, but is is an amazing cigar! The F-9 is my favorite shape because it has more of the "traditional" size to it- as well it's not too long and not too thick... it's just the right size cigar for me. A bit like a Lancero.... a little too thick to call your standard pantela and not long enough to call a churchill.
Going back to taste- not too long after bringing it in to my favorite B&M boxes were ordered there... and that place has been in NYC for like a 100 years!-need I say more?
But be for-warned (correct' spelling i hope).... those who don't like lots of taste, sizzle, and strength from a cigar might want to stay away. Although I think everyone should give the Illusione (especially the F-9) a try. It is truly a special and very unique smoke!!!!
Again, strong - but a must-try!!
Basicaly- the F-9 is not too long and thick. It's your basic parejo. It's too short to be called a lancero. And too thick to be called a pantella. It's just right!

The 888 is my favorite too. No one ever talks about the poor, lonley 888 but it's a stellar cigar.

I've only had the 68 and the mk, and they are both incredible (with the mk being a bit better). Never tried anything else in the line.

I just tried the 88 and loved it as well. The other thing that struck me was how heavy they are. I picked up the box and thought man, they must use a denser wood in the box. Then emptied the box and figured out it was the sticks. Densely rolled.

I have smoked all of the cigars you listed and can't really say I prefer one over the other. I just love Illusiones. Since the hl is the one I smoked most recently I pick that one! :ss
