Sorry for the total noob question, but aren't all the illusiones the same blend, and the abbreviation is just the size?
IMO the blend really shines in the smaller ring guages.
I want you all to know that this will be my very next purchase since I did not see a single negative review or comment anywhere. I went to the Illusione site and I was blown away. How have these cigars been so quiet on CS? I want to thank you all for bringing the cigar to my attention!!! Thanks!
I smoke 90% Cubans, and I find the Illusione line to be absolutely some of the best tasting and constructed non-cubans that exist today. They do not make any attempt to mimic a cuban flavor profile, but instead make a solid nic. cigar. They completely stand on their own.
And yes, they sold out of all their inventory at IPCPR. There is likely going to be a shortfall of supply this year as production is limited to 500,000. Get 'em while you can.
how would you compare the eccj's, from the descriptions it seems like it might be diff from the rest?
I find the ECCJ's to have a bit more of that Tobacco and spice. Whereas the CG:4 tends to have more of a that rich sweetness to them. I personally think the CG:4 is more complex, but the ECCJ has a bit more body.
:tpd:totally agree, just had an 88 and i enjoyed the cg4 more. the 88 was very good, i got some choc undertones. but the cg4 had more subtle complexity. all that being said i'm still gonna try out the others.
When you are only producing 500,000 cigars with something this hot, it is no wonder it sold out. I'm glad Dion is doing well, but I may get a bit upset in a few months when I have trouble finding my beloved Illusione No. 2's.
