In need of a little humidification help/suggestions

Background: I let my humidor go unhumified for a few wks. I never replaced my boveda pack over the winter and well, now i have some dry sticks.

Problem: I have two brand new 69% boveda packs in my humi which is holding about 35-40 sticks in it now, and it's been sitting for about a week but hasn't left the 59% mark since I put them in.

Help needed please. Or any suggestions you have to help bring my sticks back to life

Thanks

I would go get some beads. They are much easier to take care of. Depending on how long the sticks were dry, I would be careful about adding a bunch of humidity at once. The sudden change will crack the wrappers. Slowly bring the humidity back up to the level you want it at. Good luck :tu

If the humi was dry for that long 2 Boveda's will have a hard time. You may want to put the sticks in zip locks and take them out of the humi. Then put a small bowl of distilled water in the humi and let it re-season. Once it gets a steady 70%, put the cigars back in and take the water out.
You should probably got with 65% boveda's at first as, like state above, if the cigars soak up humidity to fast they will swell and crack.

If you sticks are really as dry as you describe, most of the humidity you are adding back to the humidor is probably going into the cigars. If you want to reseason the humidor you could, but as soon as you put a whole bunch of dry cigars back into the humidor the humidity will drop again. :2

I would advise that this is going to take some time to get these sticks properly re-humidified, atleast weeks if not months. Also, be aware that they may have become a little dull, not that they will smoke bad, but they may become muted.

Good luck recovering the humidor and the stogies. :tu
