I just received an email from our friends on the slope offering a cigar by the name of Cuba Libra which with that name made me more than a little suspicious right off the bat.

Anyone had any experience with these sticks? I don't mind buying a box of cheap cigars sight unseen if I have some idea what I'm getting, but 20 dog rockets at any price are still 20 dog rockets.

Then again....everyones taste is a bit different. One mans DOG ROCKET is another mans "find" of the day.

Tastes vary so much that I do my own taste testing.

I would agree with you to a that we all need to do our homework so to speak, but there are some cigars that are so bad (or good for that matter), that the reviews will be almost unanamous. That's the role reviews serve and do it well most of the time.

But once in a great while a cigar will come along where the reviews will sound like they are being written about 2 different cigars. For those, your "dog rocket/find of the day" rule will have to apply and all we can do is put up the money and take our chances.:2
