I read someplace that Drew Estates took over distribution a few months ago .. has anybody else seen big increases in JdN prices or know why?

I wonder if this is a sign of things to come from all the manufactures

Actually, that has been the case across the board for about 9 months. Very steady price increases but not the big jump as JDN's. Alot of retailers have just eating the increase but I suspect that will change.

They must have since I have not noticed it much at the local stores here.

I must stock up now, at least that's what I will tell the wife :D

The best way to avoid feeding the shark is to wait for sale on Joe's Daily or Monster, stock up on a couple favorite brands, wait out the toad stool mushroom boom that every Joe's cigar makers out there are claiming their new and up coming cigar will rock the world. Lay low and wait, sooner or later with the way the U.S economy is heading, these manufacturers and B.M will have to do a fire sale, that's when you jump in, buy good cigar for a quarter on a dollar and smile to yourself in the mirror: "I AM NO KOOL-AID DRINKER !!!" :chk

A friend of mine is taking a marketing class and he said he was supposed to discuss how vendors determine "the price".

That set me off on one of my long MBA lectures. "There is no such thing as 'the price', I explain. Let's look at cigars, for example. We have Joe and Monster and Taboo and Holts weekly and daily and dozens of other vendors figuring out new ways to lower 'the price' to move that expensive inventory...."

I have enough JDNs to get me through several years of "prices increases". I can wait them out--how deep are their pockets?

;-)
