Just smoked my first punch

I liked it :) It was the magnum size 6x54 and it took a while for the flavor to get to an intensity that I liked, and the burn wasnt all that I could have hoped for, but it had a great flavor.

There were woody, cedary notes in the cigar and also a great, almost metallic, tangy flavor. Is this what is meant by twang?
Anyway, this tangy flavor really rang a bell with me, can anybody recommend a not too expensive cigar that might have more of this flavor? Much more?

NC Punch has been a go to smoke for me for many years. Great flavor and always consistant but they don't have twang. The CC punches are also a great smoke but haven't had enough access to call them a go to but they definitely have twang.

Funny,
I was just looking at these contemplating whether or not I should try them:
Joe deal of the Day:
Punch Gran Puro Rancho

I had been told by several BOTL's that the punch line was very stout but thanks to a Sampler trade - I tried one and was impressed in how smooth yet was bold but not so much that I needed to lay down afterwards and drink a gallon of water so that I could feel normal again. Going to be trying more over time - very good smoke indeed.

I just pulled one of these out of my singles trays before sitting down and reading this thread.

A very good and consistent smoke. Better with a few months of age.

Until I discovered Tatuaje and Illusione, this was my one true go-to smoke.

I am a Punch Maduro Rothschild. It's about the least expensive Punch and one of their best. It has a similar flavor to what you described. Grab a couple, and if you don't like them, it's not a huge loss.

Smoked my first Punch Gran Puro Friday night and really liked it. :tu I have the Punch Rare Corojo at home to try.

The thing I like about Punch's is if I don't know what I want to buy I can always turn to them and not be disappointed with any of there lines.

A friend turned me on to rare corojo's recently, they are now one of my favorites to smoke all the way to the nub.
