I smoked a La Aroma de Cuba Edicion Especial #4 last night and was slightly disappointed. This is another new Don Pepin and I have smoked several of his new blends lately and enjoyed all of them. It's a 7 x 49 that is a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos and Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper. It's a nice looking cigar with a nice rich smell. I cut the end and tested the draw which was a little tight, but had some hints of spice. The cigar starts out with a little burst of spice and a slight hint of flavor. It is a mild cigar in strength and flavor. It burned well, but the draw kept getting tighter.
The cigar did not change much throughout the entire smoke. A touch of spice and a hint of flavor pretty much summed it up for me. It did burn well in spite of the draw, but for its $8 price, there are better cigars. It just didn't have enough flavor and I prefer stronger cigars. It was one of these cigars that hints at better things to come, but that just didn’t happen. I would say that it might be a nice first cigar of the day, but for the price I would find something else smoke.
