La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel

The Review:

I purchased this cigar at a B&M where I attended an event and at recommendation of my brother. The pre-light aroma smelled like a bouquet of flowers to me. Very sweet.

I torch the foot and start to puff away. Very sweet flavor on the tongue. I can't distinguish the exact flavor but very sweet, almost like smoking a clove. About an inch into it and I'm getting a mild peppery taste on the back of the tongue.

It remains for the remainder of the smoke and I get down to the last 1 1/2-2 inches and I have to put this baby down. Way too much for me. I suppose it was because I smoked a Padron earlier and in between did not have anything to eat. So I take a break, down 2-3 teaspoons of sugar (heard this helps) and wait a few minutes. Yup, I'm feeling better so I go back to the cigar.

Whoops, I went back too early. Have to put the chisel down again and I feel like vomiting but I don't. Well that was it for me and this cigar tonight. I prefer the mild/medium cigars and this was definitely a very strong cigar to me. I suppose I won't go on the recommendations of my brother very much anymore. :r

It definitely was worth a try but I don't think this smoke is for me quite yet. Maybe as my tastes and preferences change I will give this cigar another chance.

LFD DL's are some of my fav smoke but yes DO NOT SMOKE ON EMPTY STOMACH! Teaspoons of sugar help a lot and so does root beer. :D Try a Joya De Nic Antones...that's a strong smoke too. Thanks for the review. :tu

Good review....But your brother told you it was supposed to be good, but really strong. Hence why I haven't smoked mine yet:ss See, you should always listen to your older brother:hn

I had one of these @ Cigar Masters in Boston on Sunday.
It was my First and WILL not be my last what a great smoke.

I did enjoy the flavors of the cigar. Hopefully I can enjoy this cigar in the future when I get "used" to the N factor some more. Very informative article btw. Thanks.

Sorry about the results from the cigar. You should have properly warned of the strength of this cigar. Need a meal and a good firm grip of your boots for the Chisel Maduro. Definitely not for the casual or light cigar smoker. Personally I love 'em. Smoked through a box of 10 not all that long ago. But every ones palette is different. Was great herfin' with ya at Timothy's. Nice honest review.

One of my favorites but it can definitely be a "butt-kicker" if your not strapped in properly. Nice review. :tu

Thanks for the review.....they are VERY STRONG cigars, but also very flavorful.

I like the DL Chisel Maduro even better.

I enjoy a full bodied cigar on occasion, so when I saw box of LFD Double Ligero Chiselitos, I thought that size would be a good first try at Ligero dominated cigars. I'm glad I read this review before hand. I have to let it rest for a good while now. Thanks for the honesty.
