La Riqueza

Maturing Primate
Soooo, what's everyone's thoughts on these smokes. I got one a few months ago on the recommendation of a cigar shop employee. It was her pick and her favorite cigar.

Well, I decided to fire it up yesterday and still had the aftertaste in my mouth this morning when i woke up. maybe 16 hours later.

Def not one of my favorites and I don't know if my humi will be holding one ever again.

I am about 1/2 way into a #4 right now and I am enjoying it very much. Don't give up on these without giving them another try. :2

I had one that Bao gifted to me. It was good so based on a sample of one I like them hehe.

I was holding one in my hand at the B&M yesterday! But there were so many new cigars it was mind boggling. I had a budget for two, dammit! :D I'll buy it next time most likely but the Cubao and the #9 Liga Privada won this time.

I have only smoked one, but it was a tasty smoke. I need to try a few more to make a final decision.

Bought a box of #2's and have never looked back--Sweet smoke

A lot of things leave a lengthy after taste but are well worth it

BAHAHAHAHHA :chk:w:chk

Well, I might have to give them a second chance. but this after taste wasn't the kind i like to have around. Later that evening and this morning it tasted like an elephant took a crap in my mouth.

But hey, this cigar could be worth a second chance.

I've had several of the corona gordas and the petite coronas. The corona gordas were so-so the petite coronas were pretty good, but not better than a Tat or Tat Havana IMO.

I think most cigars will leave some sort of aftertaste.
Even after a couple tooth brushings, it often still lingers.
I doubt if stinky breath is exclusive to smoking La Riquezas.

The dude at my local shop says Pete Johnson (Tatuaje founder) modelled them directly after a Henry Clay cigar. Not sure if that's true or not.

The La Riqueza #3 is one of my favorites, I have smoked through 1/2 box of them and have had no problem with a bad or long aftertaste. I like to give a cigar a few tries (3-5) before I ban it from my humi.

i've never been a fan of small cigars, but the #5 is excellent. it is my favorite of all the sizes.

Would this be a good wedding cigar? I need to find two sizes (one PC and one robusto) Thinking two different cigars. There will be regular cigar smokers and first timers there. I don't wanna get people sick, but I want cigars both groups would like. Thanks.

Munkey-

Go with the Havana VI line from Tatuaje for your wedding. I love the #3 from La Riqueza, but the first timers might get a little queasy from them and the VIs also has a better aroma for the ladies. :D

If I was gonna go with a DPG smoke for newbs and experienced smokers at the wedding I would probably go with Cabaiguan or San Cristobal. Neither of these will overpower the newbs and are flavorful enough for the seasoned vets. :2

Interesting.

I like the La Riqueza because it has a different taste compared to most Pepin's. In my opinion, the difference is the subtle floral note at the finish. IMO most women would like a subtle floral note compared to the raw earthiness of the Tatuaje Red.

As far the "queasy" issue, both of these cigars are not the best selection for newbies unless they already smoke cigarettes or dip snuff.

Just my :2
