Las Vegas trip - Casa Fuente, Napoleon's, etc.

I got back from Las Vegas yesterday - I was there since Wednesday. I didn't get to smoke as much as I'd planned, but had a great time nonetheless. I took in all the casinos on the strip (of course), Fremont street, Hoover dam, and hiked Red Rocks Canyon. July in Vegas is hot - 100+ every day, but I'd take 100 dry degrees in Vegas over 85 wet degrees in Dallas any day of the week.

I checked out Casa Fuente on Friday afternoon. I picked up a Casa Fuente corona gorda ($18) which the humidor man on duty called a lancero (very strange). I smoked it on the patio which looks out into the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace and drank their signature Casa Mojito ($12). My waitress was an incredibly attractive girl named Shanna who wore some lacy white panties and a see-through white skirt over them - wow. The Mojito was great, but I was underwhelmed by the Casa Fuente cigar. It drew very tight, so I tried to gently roll out the plug but the wrapper just burst instead. The flavor was good, but my tastes have gone a different direction lately.

Friday and Saturday afternoons I spent in Napoleon's, a cigar and piano bar in the mall at the Paris, where I was staying. I'd tried to go quietly enjoy a cigar on Thursday night, but the dueling piano show was in full swing so the bar was packed and the music was roaring. They put on a good show, although not as entertaining as the piano bar at the New York New York, which I went to on Wednesday night. Afternoons were much more low-key. Napoleon's opens at 4pm and the show doesn't start until 9pm, so there are five good quiet hours to grab a couch and a drink and enjoy a cigar. The decor is very nice - many round tables and plush couches on the perimeters of the room. I finished two John Grisham books those afternoons.

I wholly enjoyed my stay. It's too bad I wasn't there earlier to meet some of the RTDA show-goers, but I was there for the AmerisourceBergen convention so dates weren't flexible. Napoleon's was great, Casa Fuente was great, and it seems like cigar culture is doing just fine in touristy Las Vegas.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like a GREAT time.
I really want to go to Vegas for a vacation. I have only been there for a weekend and had a blast. When I was there it was before cigars found me so I have no experience with any of the cigar establishments in Vegas.

HEY! Where are the Pics?

Sounds like an awesome time - I'm heading back to Vegas in late October, your post provided me with a few things to keep in mind. Thanks.

Sounds like a good trip, Mikey. Glad you liked Napleon's. I forgot about the dueling piano thing.

I'll be there in two days. Can't wait!

I love Vegas :D
