Latest Pepin Purchase (Pics)

Very nice pick up, yazzie! I had a question about the oily look you described in the review, which was good BTW. I was talking to a B&M friend the other day about Tats and Pepeen's (Pronunciation for Darrell;)
I had never really thought about it until he told me about the rolling of Pepin's stuff. They roll them old school Cuban style, meaning they are still wet. The question: Do you think this has a lot to do with the spice and sheen of the Pepin Lines and that twang they have, or do you feel it is just the tobacco blend itself?

Absolutely! Let them rest a bit and the spice will settle.

Absolutely! the blend itself gives them a nice twang. Not sure yet if it will fade as well with some rest...Mine never make it that long. correction. I have a Padilla Habanos from last year I need to try. More to follow.

Nice pictures too!!
Instead of pron..I'm going to call it: Electronic device captured binary data image..:chk

And after that, it's only a matter of time before it becomes second nature and we all just use an acronym... "Check out my latest cigar edcbdi!"

Just a note......Padilla Habanos are rolled by Oliva Cigar Co. So go ahead and smoke that stogie and let us know how well they're aging.:tu

All hand-rolled cigars are "wet" to begin with. The tobacco has to be pliable enough to be handled without tearing or ripping. The "old school cuban style" has to do with the way they are actually bunched, rolled and finished with a triple-cap.

The spice has to do with where the tobacco is grown and, of course, the blend.

And yes, it is pronouced Pep-een. :D

These really are very well put together smokes. The flavor isn't exactly what I'd expect it to be but these are solid smokes. I'm always surprised by Pepin's blends... some are just spot on and others are just so so.

Good pick up though brother :tu
