Yesterday was the monthly pay the bills/go over the budget day in our household. A day my girlfriend and I look forward to and cherish each month. I like to think of it as our way of spending quality time together. And as always, I complain how upset and nervous I get with this monthly ritual and that a good smoke would really calm my nerves. After the usual eye rolling and sideward glances, she usually consents(got to love this woman). Now, since my check writing privileges were taken away a long time ago, I get the honor of putting on stamps and sealing envelopes.
What I learned was, glue from the envelopes and cigars don't go together. It makes a perfectly good cigar taste like crap. Talk about ruining your palate. Sort of like brushing your teeth and using mouthwash and then lighting up. Doesn't work. So, I guess the lesson learned for me was; don't pay your bills or lick envelopes while smoking. They both will leave a bad taste in your mouth.
