Hey guys.

I was looking though the linkedin groups and noticed alot of other cigar clubs had there own groups so i shot out a few pm's to see what people thought.

I have created a club stogie group on Linkedin
If you have a linkedin account goto groups and search club stogie or use the following link
http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=713587

thought it would be a nice thing to pull people together in a professional manner.

Let me know what you guys have any questions comments.
or would like to change any of the descriptions, logo's or what not..

Count me in!

One question for everybody, though. I ended up not including clubstogie as one of my groups on my profile. The reason being is that I generally consider this a professional site, and I'm not sure I want potential employers viewing that. Any thoughts? Or am I just :chk

:mn away!

Updated again.

sacmore21.
Its all good.
Yes its a professional social group.
But still about networking. Never know your future boss might enjoy cigars ;)

I have a few groups on mine from cigars to guns to IT, Apple
Its about making a network the more connections you have the better in my opinion. Makes it easier to find someone for a postion or to get a position or even help with a problem your having.

If any one wants to add me to there connections feel free to send me an invite

That's a good point.....

I think if it were a cigarette smoking club that'd be a huge red flag, but since stogies don't share that stigma (for the most part), I think it'd be OK. IMO it demonstrates good taste and class :)

Not sure how the HR health plan adminstrators would feel about it though....

Hey, at least you're not a member of the dreaded NAMBLA group.

But seriously, I have a friend that had an offer withdrawn after his prospective employer saw his Myspace page (he's got some tasteless, sexist and other very funny material on his page). LinkedIn is, after all, just myspace for old people.

My .02, if somebody's going to be so uptight about what I do nights and weekends that they'd give a shit if I puff a cigar or three, I don't think I want to work for them.

bingo.
that would be a harbinger of how uptight and shitty the work environment will be.
