Look what I got for 50 cents today!

Picked up this 6 bottle wine tower at Hudson’s Dirt Cheap for $0.54 today! At first I was worried that this thing had a compressor, but according to the Amazon page I found it has a “thermoelectric convection cooling system”. This is good, right?


Loading is going to be a bit of a challenge. Not really any room for more than a couple of boxes. This is like Christmas for a newb like me though.

It looks like all you will need to do is modify the curved wire shelves into a flat shelf and then get or build some narrow trays. For the price, if you just wind up standing boxes on edge for now...

Nice score!! For shelves you could pick up some wood planks at Lowe's and cut them to fit.

Glad to hear everyone approves. It’s nice to have my bargain hunting hobby mesh into my new hobby.

Seems to be working well so far. There has been a small amount of condensation that I might have to find a way to manage. I have a pound of heartfelt 65% beads in there that should help.

I will probably get some 1/8-inch plywood to make into shelves. I don’t want to create too much of a barrier from top to bottom though, to allow for adequate air circulation.

I’m still trying to find a major defect. Like most appliances you find at Hudson’s this was a return from another store and was then acquired by Hudson’s. I’m hoping the reason the original owner returned it was that the faceplate on the control buttons came off.

We’ll see how long it stays operational. Like others have stated, for $0.54 if it last for a month I’ll still be happy.
