Mark, there are many choices for you and Im sure some other people will be able to add to this list...as always your best bet is to smoke them and decide what fits your taste the best.

A few of my personal favorites are
Ashton classic - always well made and mild
Montesino - another well made cigar
AVO makes some tasty milds
Chateau fuente...
and the fuente hemingway series although this is bordering on medium
Macanudo is always popular, not one of my personal favorites but i believe they are still the #1 seller in America.

These are only a few and by no means represent all thats there...

the price will vary depending on the tax in your state but the Ashtons and AVO's will be the most followed by the hemmingways, Fuente's and Montesino's...

Some great suggestions in the previous post. I would avoid the Macanudos because I don't get the slightest bit of flavor from them, it is like smoking air.

But I think the Ashton Classic and AVO suggestions are right on the money for a mild cigar with good flavor.

Casa Torano, Chateau Real, Helix 550, RyJ Reserva Real, Dunhill Signed Range, CAO Gold, Flor de Oliva Gold, Indian Tobak Classic and Rocky Patel's Connecticut are just a few. I'm sure more gorillas will chime in with more suggestions.

Why? Because they go well with coffee in the morning. :ss :cp

lol no coffee for me. Ive been smoking macanudos, montecristos, and since im young and had to start somewhere im sad to say ive had some white owls. Let me see hwtas im my humidor..... Got a montecristo classic collection, Macanudo gold labels, a random kaluah cigar form somewhere, and a Sancho panza. ill be going out to the tobaccanist and checking out some of the sugguestions here.

I hope you keep that Kaluah away from the good cigars. :D Flavored cigars should not be stored with non-flavored cigars.

Just start trying everything. Eventually, you will want more than mild. ;) Be sure to check out this thread: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=29252

Hey,

Keeping in mind that their's MANY variables to consider and that opinions are like As*holes. Here's some of my objective & honest opinions/experience.

I've given up on the CAO GOld completely, One dementional....to mild....doesn't improve with even five years of age thus far. The construction & burn are usually consistently fantastic but these are very close to smoking an Airball as IceHog described the Macs.

The Five Vegas Gold Toro's I had where quite good, approaching medium body though.

IMVHO & IME The Casa Torano is fantastic in ALL of the Vitolas with the Churchill being the Mildest of the Line and the Robusto approaching a medium body. It's got a wonderfull spice that lingers in the background but doesn't overwhelm the creamy wrapper. You can actually taste the Ligero.

I really enjoyed the small handfull of AVo's I've tried and they aren't giving em away..hehe.

Some of the Rocky Patel *Indian Tabak* line are excetionally good & a deal compared to many of the big names. I've heard awesome things about Rocky Patel Conneticuit.

Lots of People Love the Fuente Chateau(green band on foot) & Double Chateau(Churchill Size roughly) but they bore the crap outa me personally. I wouldn't smoke em for free. To each their own.

No one can put their hands on my Casa Toranos.

5 Vegas Gold. It kills the CAO with complexity, the CAO isn't bad it's just a yawn fest after one or two.
Perdomo Champaign

I'd disagree with the folks who suggested that an AF Hemingway or Château would be in the mild category.

Two I would recommend.
H. Uppman Vintage cameroon
Punch Royal Coronation (in a tube)

As a noob I can't give you all the flowery nutmeg with a hint of rosemary and a finish of cinnamon :D But, they are very affordable, smoke very nice and even, and pretty easy to find. I smoked a Vintage (Robosto) last night with some Even Williams Single Barrel. If the ash is important (not sure why, this seems to be a concern) it easily went 1 /34" to 2" before I knocked it off. It was still attached pretty firmly.

Both smokes have always looked nicely wrapped and no cuts or wierd imperfections. They also take a lot of abuse (read that as they ride in my motorcycle vest and don't seem to be affected).

Today's Joe Deal is a mild one.

One Mild that I like, and probably the only mild cigar I like, is the Rocky Patel American Market Selection Toro or Torpedo. You can find those at Famous and on their auction site.

I've got to agree with the guys suggesting 5 Vegas Gold. They're really the only mild cigars that I enjoy enough to smoke regularly.

check out a couple of the threads on candela cigars........these are a good mild choice IMHO...........the AF 858 and/or JR Ult with a candela wrapper come to mind..........they are a different experience for sure.

It has already been mentioned but I will mention it again: I have a Casa Torano in my jacket pocket waiting for work to be over...
(I meant to smoke it after Bob Evans this morning but ran out of time. That's the best though, a nice hearty breakfast, lots of coffee, THEN a Casa Torano!)

Everyone I know--including me--walked into their local B&M and said, "I am new to cigars and want something mild. Inevitably, this is how every newbie cigar smoker smoked their first Macanudo.

For me, it was a Macanudo Potrofino. A tubed cigar. I still have one in my original humidor. I think it's just nostalgic for me. It's been in there since 1994. I'll most likely never smoke it.

Recently, I was digging through my original humidor (I have two) and I stumbled across a Macanudo vintage 1993. I probably bought it back in 1998/99. I decided to give it a go. It was a fine, mild smoke. These days, for me, I prefer something a little bolder, and generally with a maduro wrapper.

So, Macanudo is the go to. If you can track down some vintage red bands, I'd say go for it. My go to, never disappointed, been smoking them for years smoke, which is mild, but slightly bolder than the Mac is a Punch Grand Cru Monarcas. This is a tubed cigar, generally less than six bucks a stick. I buy these in boxes of ten at a time. Always a hit with the novice smoker that I try to get over to our dark side.
