this past weekend i had a padron lancero . i must say its the fist time i have smoked a 7in x 38 i really enjoyed it now im Looking to pick up some lanceros or similar sized cigars . so my question is do u guys have some reccomendations? and where to pick up box's online . Im thinking about taking a trip to jr cigars maybe this weekend, Now that i have plenty of room in my new vino i need to fill it up a lil more ........:cb I think i will go and enjoy an astral 7.5x38 that someone bombed me with ... i just wanna say Thanks to a great site u guys have opened my eyes to alot this past year with new cigars . I have never met a more generous group, on that note i think i will make some bombs this weekend :bl

padron is good, like you said. Olivia v lancero is an excellent, though be it hard to find cigar. Illusione has some smaller rg cigars, which are excellent btw. If there is a good b&m around you they can give you some suggestions. The vendor that i like to use is bestcigarprices.com. Lancero types are my faves. let me know if u find a good one :ss

JR carries the Joya de Nic Antano lancero. A nice med/full lancero, that smooths out with a few months rent. Ton's of other tasty lancero's out there. Among my favorites are the LFD Oscuro, Oliva V, Old Henry, Tat Especiales and Illusione Holy Lance. :2

There happens to be a really good article about "The Rise of the Lancero" in the lastest issue of CA. One of the rare good articles you can find in CA.

I suggest the new Pepin Blue Label Fundadore and the new Coronado by La Flor Lancero but you won't find them at JR. Almost forgot about the Padilla '68 and Miami lanceros. Davidoff has made a Millenium blend lancero. Havn't tried that one yet. It's pricey.

If you decide on the JdN LET IT REST!!! had half a box of them and 1/2-3/4 needed more time than I allowed (very tough draw)LFD, Oliva V and Tat Esp. are all stocked in my humi!!

I have really been on a Lancero kick

Need to try the HL but have had most all the other listed and enjoyed them all!!!

The Tat Havana VI is an excellant Lancero, but they call it a different name. Very nice and I prefer the larger RG.

I suggest the new Pepin Blue Label Fundadore

Hey Greg have you tried one of these? I saw these recently but passed on them. I haven't had the best experiences with newer Pepin blends. I thought I'd get your opinion on it before I re-considered. It's a great looking smoke.

Are you referring to the Victorias? If so, I love this particular vitola in the Havana VI line.

The last CA issue seemed to focus all on the lancero - like you said, some good articles in there. I'd pick that up if I were you (cmk321i) as they rank a bunch of lanceros and discuss many noncuban and cuban lanceros.

I did have one last night, Ji. Very, very good. Probably needs a few more months rest as they were just produced this month. I think Pepins are always better after 4-5 months at the right rh. They are very much like the Blue Lancero in the limited Lanceros Collection box.

Bought an unopened box of Padron, maduro Lanceros a few years ago that had sat in a walk in humidor for a few years as it was hidden up behind the top facia. The cello on them is yellow and they all smoke like 1964's. Had one last night. What a smoke.

My vote would be for the Illusione Holy Lance and the Padrons.

YOu're right about the Pepins. I don't like to touch them for about 6 months. I reckon it's time to open one of those Holiday boxes, so I can make a comparison. :]

Rocky has a sampler pack containing a bunch of lanceros that are not in production, such as the olde world, the decades, and the edge in corojo and maduro. They are great packs, but only a limited number were released. PM me if you're interested in any of them.
