Well its a very enjoyable evening out here in South Florida, I just got these Man O' War's in today, decided to do a review on them. Usually I let new cigars sit a month or so before smoking one, but I couldn't help myself. This is my first attempt at a review, so please bare with me. I haven't seen many reviews on this, so hope this helps some of you guys.

Man O' War Robusto(5.5" x 50)

Construction: Amazingly rolled, firm but has some give to it, no soft spots. The wrapper has a redish hue to it, which is quite appealing. Virtually vein free, except for one small one running the entire length of the stick.

Pre Light: I clipped the cap with my Palio, gave a very clean cut. Took my first pre light draw, the draw is perfect, its not to hard or to light, just perfect. Upon the pre light draw, I was hit with the taste of mostly black pepper, that left a tingle in the back of my throat.

First 1/3: I used my torch, toasted the foot, lite it up. I was hit after my first draw with a creamy but yet spicy flavor, a tiny hint of citrus. The smoke is very thick, ample amounts with little effort. The most significant taste on my palate at this moment is cedar, black pepper and hickory. Burn is down right perfect, even with a lighting error on my part it quickly corrected itself after a few good draws.

Half Way: The black pepper has worn off, but left a tingle in the back of my throat, it has yet to subside. The flavors are now dominated by floral, cedar. The burn is still razor sharp.

Coming To The End: Well I am down to the last 1.5" or so, this is where this cigar is shining. The spice has come back, reminding me of the taste of a Monte No. 2, that I had but a few weeks ago while staying at Atlantis, the aroma is so close to it as well. There is alot of spice, but its not over powering, its just right. The citrus hint has come back as well, its pairing nicely with the spice.

Conclusion: This was a great smoke, lasting about 1.5 hours, the flavors changed a few times, its not a very complex cigar, but it will keep you guessing. I bought a box, I am going to let these sit, as I can only see them getting better with some age. I am currently going to continue smoking this until my fingers start to burn, haha. Grab a 5 pack and give them a try, because I can promise you, you will pick up a box.

Rating: 9/10

Nice Review! I smoked one of these the other day that I received in a trade. Only had 2 weeks rest, but it was fantastic! I bought a 5'er the other day from CI. A new favorite to add to my regular rotation. Rg for you, Bro! Again, Nice Review!

That was a great review.

I had one two nights ago I got from CI. It was really good as well and like you said it was never really strong. I got to talking to a neighbor and it went out and I had to do a quick re-lite, but all the way to the nub it smoked clean and even with firm solid ash. :tu

I got a 5er of Double Coronas sitting in my Humidor. I don’t know how much longer I can wait.

Nice review.

Thanks for the great review. I've got a few toros in the humi I was going to let sit a bit longer. Maybe I'll check one out this weekend.

That's a very good review a better one than I did on the torpedo. I also have the double corona in my humi waiting to be smoked

I had one that came with a Xikar purchase and loved enough that I bought the 20 cigar sampler from cigar.com on Friday. I got the shipment yesterday and lit one up tonight. Just as good as the original! Nice review and I'm totally glad I splurged on the purchase... I'm sure "The Boss" will have something to say about my unsanctioned purchase, but it's worth it!

Thanks for the review. I smoked one of these a couple of months ago and I found it a decent smoke, but I wasn't as blown away as the price tag should have implied.

great review, thumbs up! It is a shame that they are not available here in Europe. Would love to try and review some of them... been interested in them for a while now...

cheers,

I smoked a Man O' War last night (think it was a toro though). I thought it was almost exactly like a patel Vintage 92, but towards the middle it developed a bit differently. Has anyone else that has tried both found them to be very similar?

I have one on hand, ill smoke it and see if I can notice anything similar.

Glad everyone liked the review :).
