"Modern-Style" Humidors

Was just wondering if you folks have noticed any modern-styled humidors, either desktop or cabinet style.

When searching for humidors, I generally see ones that tend to look like antiques/heirlooms. Nothing wrong with that, but I would have thought that there would be more diverse selections available and the antique look is something that I'm not going for at home.

I was looking at something like this:

Of course I've seen some nice Davidoffs, etc. but pricing is rather prohibitive for poor blokes like me!

yeah those are nice too! ive been thinking about making my own humi for the past few months, the exotic woods and spanish cedar is sooo expensive though, course I would have to use full wood pieces since I dont like the veneers and stuff.

looks very small though

Yeah it does. And I have no clue if it's even available. Well, it is just an example anyway as I'm seeking something more futuristic/modern.

The ST Duponts do look sleek, but again, cost is something I cannot consider at this point!

Maybe I'll just stick with tupperdors! ;)

you are not alone in wishing there were more "modern" styled humis. not much out there to really pick from without huge prohibitive costs being a factor.

have you considered converting a modern cabinet or hutch into a humi? i have a couple of pieces that are potentially great canidates for transformation; it's just time and effort I have lacked thus far.

are your tastes mid-century modern or 21st century modern?

Hehe, I can't consider converting existing items since i'm not mechanically inclined at all!

Essentially, I'm leaning towards more 21st century casual/contemporary. Although art-deco would be interesting, though.

Clicked that first link, but nothing's coming up for me. Whatup wit dat?

I'm glad I went searching through old threads and found this post.

Has anyone run across any modern humidors like this since this thread was active?

I took a look at the Vanderburg Humidors after hearing them on the Dogwatch, and they look pretty radical and different

Yeah, not quite... but that's pretty damn intense nonetheless. And it is cool.

But I was kind of thinking something a litle smaller. And a lot less expensive (100-300 ct $100-300)

c-poc: Thanks, I'll take a look. Do you have a link? I can't seem to find anything.
