More mold being passed off as "plume"

While, it's quite obvious that I don't use the vendor now because I didn't get the hint. It's quite possible in the future I may use them because I've totally forgotten about the fun little game of hint-hint-wink-wink we're playing here.

As fun as this game has been it would be really nice if someone would just name the vendor to prevent future purchases from this mold peddler.

Thanks! :tu

Here's a thought. Maybe the vendor sells Cuban cigars and, as such, is not going to be named in the public forum.

I think it's http://www.cigarexpress.com/ but I don't know for sure.
No one wants to crucify anyone because they don't know cause the original guy didn't say.
I shopped a Smoker Friendly Cigar Express B&M and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. Great folks and they fell all over me.
It was fun. :tu

i can live with that haha

To the people continually asking who the vendor is, the rules of this forum state that you do not talk about cuban cigar sources in the open, plain and simple. This thread was made to warn the people that currently are using said vendor in which case, by simple clicking on the link and reading the other thread, they would know who it is. Continually begging to know who it is isn't going to do anything. I think Moki said it best "if you don't know who it is, then you obviously don't order from them". As far as your reasoning of "if I want to buy from them in the future", if you ever figure out who this vendor is, I'm sure you will likely remember this thread.

Not trying to come off rude by any means, just stating that continuing to make posts asking who this vendor is is getting this thread no where.

Yep, and the moldy cigars clearly look like moldy Habanos to me and I know who the vendor is and it's not the first time I have heard of them doing this.

I had a store try that on me when I removed the cedar sleeves on a box of Chateu Fuente maduros. They proceded to act as if I was lucky to have such ripe cigars. Pissed me off.

You are still not getting it. If you have used, currently use, or plan to ever use this vendor, you will get the hint. Otherwise, don't worry about it. As pnoon said, this vendor will not be named publically.

I think that is why the bands were excluded from the pictures.

It's probably a BS story..otherwise they would be named.

What is the big bad cigar vendor gonna come and get you?

If it is a fake story, then that is great. If it is a true story, it still goes against forum policy to name certain vendors. Consider it like an inside joke.

hey sorry if i made a bad joke i just thought this thread was started to let people know there was a vendor sendin people moldy cigars and sayin there not and to help our members from gettin screwed -- if it cant be said outloud then it should be a bulk email to all members just because we arent now dont mean we wont be in the future and if i was told the name id dam sure not forget it but as of now i see three and i guess ill just make sure i dont buy from any of them so the two honest guys are screwed too hahaha -- i say dont start something ya cant finish and im not tryin to be rude or anything

ya know im a mod on two other forums and just because someone dont agree with something someone else says i dont lock the thread -- its called freedom of speech and the right to be herd -- i didnt see anyone break any forum rules so why close it ??

If you read the entire thread, the well known vendor argues with the guy claiming it is not mold, but rather "plume" -- really ridiculous, and this is not the first time they have given people this same run-around on moldy cigars.

Caveat emptor.

There's some solid advice, and post #4 into the thread. Bottom line is know what and from whom you are buying. Building a bond and relationship with a vendor is a long term commitment, but in the end it is worth everything you put into it. There's always going to be moldy cigars that make it through, and the majority of quality vendors will make it right when brought to their attention. :2

For all of you that are insisting on someone naming names. Try a little creative internet searching. A little effort goes a long way to get the answers you seek.

Honestly, at this point, I could care less how the vendor is. I'm actually more concerned with the fact that I can't stop throwing up in my mouth every time I see those pictures. I doubt I'll even sleep tonight.

Seriously though, thanks for posting some really helpful pictures of white mold that can be easily mistaken for plume if you're not aware.

Well, I had originally asked for a PM but no one PM'ed me. Of course, the flip side of not naming the vendor is speculation like this:

At this point though, I don't even care. One day I do hope to "go over to the dark side" and at that point I hope I remember the hint given in this thread and don't end up with moldy sticks.<!-- / message -->

On a related note...

They sell these things called tobacconists brushes. What do you think one of their uses might be? :)

Many times boxes come "inspected" you might think that upon detection, more than inspection takes place.

In the foot of the cigar/ a prevalence that makes you suspect interior mold is the issue? Send em back. A few lil bitty flakes up near the head or between cigars? Brush them off and smoke em up.

Moki's examples are fairly extreme. Most instances I have seen are minor. Of course I'm not an inspector for a vendor either. :D
