Most Overrated Cigar.....

To be honest i'd have to say the Padron 40th annie 1926....

agreed. they taste like soggy wood to me. Im going with the Davidoff Millinium line.

whos tasting at Robb Report? they choose in a very snobby, very UN-blinded manner. a 25 dollar robusto that tasted like a fat Al Capone

Also... any Cuban Lancero. I have had horrible luck with them in terms of being plugged... and yes, I've stored them at low humidity, dryboxed them, etc. No dice. Too bad, I love that vitola.

I've smoked a dozen or two Opus, fresh and 5+ years old. I think they are bar none - the most overrated cigar made (Cuban or non).

I'd add Fuente BTL. Not shabby, but their scarcity and premium paid is not worth it.

I'd like to defend a few mentioned (just my opinions of course):
RASS - if you've had one with some time on it, you may change your mind
Trinidad (Cuban) - I've got some Reyes that are amazing. I haven't plucked one from the box in a few months, but they were exquisite little things. This is the only Trinidad I've had. Overpriced? YES, just like Cohiba - but not overrated.
Padron '64 - Again, a stellar smoke - especially when aged. I don't think the last few years releases are up to par with the original few releases (8-9 years ago).
Ashton - I agree with most of the Ashton remarks. The Puro Sol is terrible as is most of their regular line, but the VSG is mind blowing.

Some of the best cigars I've ever smoked have been Opus X, but some of the worst have also been Opus X. If I could have only one cigar in my humidor it would be well aged Opus X Petit Lanceros.

Ditto on the Millenium: complete doo doo. Now, the Double R.....that's a great medium bodied cigar.

I love the 40th anniversary and am glad I still have a few to age an extra year or so.

I'm not sure how high they are rated but overpriced....it would be the non-Cuban Cohibas. I have never had one from Cuba but tried a NC one this weekend and it was nothing special.

Festival del Habanos 2000 Mareva

at the asking/going price that a box of these are bringing now(800.00)
they get my vote for the most overated cigar(this week anyways)

k

I know I shouldn't base this on just one cigar experience, but I had a 100 Anos corona yesterday and it was big time let-down! I do have a churchhill still resting. Hoping that one is better.

Dominican Partagas 150 (not worth the money imho)
I received one of these as a gift. However, I just haven't been able to pull the trigger and light this puppy yet. I hope you're wrong about that though.
