Well where do I start?
I joined CS on 5-3-2008. In less than one calander month I bought a 300 ct humidor, at least 150 sticks, a 100 qt cooler, and met a ton & I mean a ton of great people. After quitting cigarettes a couple years back I was afraid to enjoy a cigar for fear of wanting a cigarette again. A good friend of mine made me promise after I got my life insurance as a non-tobacco user I would enjoy a cigar with him.
The date was May 1st, 2008. I burned an RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut Torpedo. I put my big toe on the slope and slipped quick. That night at a local cigar bar, Vi Bratto's in Mt. Clemens Michigan I met a BOTL, 357. Mike told me that I should join CS, which I did 2 days later, and he said that the brotherhood was like no other. Boy was he right.
Not only is it like no other, but I look forward to reading the posts of many BOTL's I haven't met yet in person but hope to herf with soon. I'm very lucky to be in Metro Detroit with Gorillas like 357, cab23, fulltime, Booker, MarkTHS, and a ton of guys that I'll smoke with soon.
Hook 357 up with some mega ring gauge for a brother.
I've literally gone from Portifinos and Vintage 99's to Cristobals and 1990's in 30 days.
I look extremely forward to meeting and herfing with as many BOTL's as possible this summer and summers to follow. I look even more forward to passing my knowledge and experiences on to new BOTL's in the future also. I've already started plans for a smoking room in my new house and even have my fiance onboard with Acid Blondies, Cuban Honeys, and even a couple RyJ's lately.
To any n00bs reading this whether it's today tomorrow or 2010, remember to keep the tradition of Club Stogie alive. You'll be hard pressed to find a better group of people wha are willing to pay it forward and pass their experiences and traditions on as well.
Alright, enough of the sentimental crap...Light One Up:ss
