My wife and friends are mad at me!

Evolving Lead Gorilla
Several times a week my wife and I sit down with another couple and drink in the backyard. I have been taking a stick with my lately since they dont mind. Rewind to my 12th anniversary a couple months ago the other couple took us to the fancy black tie affair and there was a local cigar maker there and I bought them a cognac flavored cigar with a sugar dipped tip and they loved it.

Now the last couple times I smoked they have been like where is ours? LOL I dont mind buying them some sticks to get them started but the local maker here is charging $9 a stick and I am sure there are some better beginner cigars out there, flavored. So what should I get them to try?

black n milds.... lol

just dont get them to expensive or your gonna dig yourself a hole thats gonna be super hard to get out of

I recently tried a Java By Drew Estate. It was like smoking sweet coffee I literally had sugar on my lips. Definitly an after dinner smoke. Im not really a flavored cigar smoker but someone who is in the cigar business for a living and markets for the largest cigar company in the world gifted me one @ the B&M he owns after I bought dinner and I was quite suprised. While smoking he even explained to me the whole process on how they sweeten the cigars it was pretty interesting. Dont think ill be picking up one for a while but im sure one day I may have the urge again after such a positive experience.

You could try Isla Del Sol from Drew Estate. The sales line states "mellow blends infused with an array of coffee flavors and also sports a sugar dunked tip."

Looks like they can be picked up for 1.75 or less a smoke.

Why do you have to buy him Cigars? he is getting used to it.

I would ask him to come with you for a little ride to a B&M and once your there you walk around the cigar room, and you say to him, oooh i'd get that one thats good, and then another cigar ooohh thats a great one you should try it. once he will get the hang of buying cigars he wont be so dependent on you. And then lets hope you get him hooked. hey yah never know.

Excellent idea there! The B&M experience was a bit overwhelming for me at first... it wasn't until I started buying online that I got more comfortable. Some help with the first B&M visits would have definitely been helpful and exciting!

If they like the flavored cigars, I really enjoyed Tatiana Waking Dreams, Nightcap or Groovy Blue. You don't hear much about them, but I found them much more enjoyable that CAO flavors and less weird than Acids.

Its not that they want me to buy them some, I just never knew they wanted to smoke and they are interested. I have no problem buying them some nice smokes. But it will not be an ongoing thing. Once they have a couple and are more interested I plan on taking them to the B&M.

I keep a handful of Acid Blondies (in separate storage) for this kind of occasion. Nice sweet taste, short enough and inexpensive enough that if the "experimental-smoker" wants to quit early, they don't feel so bad and I'm not out $$$. Or, I just finish it for them! They're $3 each at my B&M.

I would also go with the Java. It is not my favorite, but for a beginner I think it is a good smoke.

I keep all the ones mentioned (except the Kahlua), plus CAO Earth Nectar, Eileen's Dream, Karmasutra Splash, and Moontrance.
The flavored cigars get tons of play, everyone who comes over checks them out and Kerri loves to show people the flavored cigars. It allows all my non-cigar smoking friends to get in on the fun.
I get them at cbid, usually at an excellent price.

I would add another vote for the Java. I don't really smoke flavored but I was on an RP kick at the time and gave it a shot. While I probably won't be picking up another anytime soon it was not a bad smoke at all, probably good for someone who has little experience with cigars

Here's what I do. I will offer a cigar and if they like it I get their email and send them a link to the online store. In the email I will also include some others they may like. They are now in the game.
