My wife wants to have a Havana themed party!

With Mojitos (we just got a great recipe from the local Havana Club) and cigars! Totally her idea!

So how bout some ideas for the "Theme" I will most definatley post pictures here!

My wife is a gem! She has switched from flavor infused cigars to normal cigars lately...she likes the 601 Maduro, 601 Oscuro, and RP Vintage 92
 
I am going to need plenty of advance notice to make sure I can attend.

When I think cuban the first and most delicious thing that comes to mind is a cuban pork roast. And most people have never had fried plantains so that is something to consider.

Mojitos... meh... not a fan. Actually most cuban drinks are pretty boring variations of mojitos. Some of their drinks have grapefruit juice as an ingredient which could give you something to serve that is not so fad-y.
 
So here is the deal, the party will be Oct 25th here in Phoenix.

We are going to talk with the local Havana Club about catering...we went there yesterday and the food is Authentic. Cuban Pork Roast sounds great and is 1st on my list. There will be cigars, sipping runs, mojitos, dominos, and whatever else I can think of between now and then.

My wifes B-day is Oct 20th and mine is Oct 26th so this is our B-Day party. If your in town your more than welcome to come.

Any other Havana Nights ideas for the party are welcome!
 
Opressive Communista techniques must be readied as you will need to rule this party with an iron fist.

Once you have the gulag readied and allowed the guests in, seize all of their assests 'for their own good and the good of the party' before shipping them off.

That'd be my approach anyway. Then again, I don't have a lot of friends.

serve black beans with fried bananas. It's not entirely cuban, but it's damn good!
