Any thoughts as to advantages, disadvantages, differences in taste, flavor, individual gorillas' preferences, etc., between Natural vs. Maduro wrappers? Thanks!

I prefer Maduro wrappers. They tend to be 'spicy', I just got a few yesterday and they have some hints of chocolate and caramel. they smoke like a dream

I smoke mostly sungrowns & corojo any more, but there are a lot of really nice maduros out there.

Be careful of the cheapies though, because there are a lot of fake dyed & painted maduros out there too. There are also quite a few "cooked" maduro wrappers on the market.

I love a good maduro wrapper, but I'm not a one shot kinda guy... I'll go with a lighter wrapper if the mood is right...

the painted wrappers are the worst!!!!

I find that quality maduros are slightly sweeter than their natural counterparts. I've gravitated toward SG and corojos wrappers lately because I prefer the spicy kick they provide. Once in a while, I'll pull out an AF 858 maddie or Punch Roth in X. My overall favorite maddie is still the PAM (I like the 1926 a little better). Pricy but worth the experience on special occasions IMHO.

You're getting a two-fer-one with the PAM since you like Sungrown wrappers. The PAM gives you a Sungrown Maduro wrapper. Mmmmm, loves me some PAM. :ss

I agree with this but to me many maduros also have less character compared to the natural varieties. In my experience many maduro cigars start out great but the became almost boring in the last third. Naturals on the other hand, especially corojos, only get better and better the closer you get to the nub! :D

It used to be that I ONLY smoked amddies, and was always on the hunt for a double maddie.

Now, well, I still ove maddies and double maddies but am growing more and mpore open to Corojo's and sungrown wrappers because of the little zing.

And heck I love a good smooth light connecticut wrapper when I begin my fishing Saturdays.

Heck, I don't know......what was the original question?
