Well, on a sad note the company I work for was bought out today by another and I was told that I would not be retained due to "budget constraints". This one is kind of tough because it was my first job since college. I know that things will work out, but for now I plan on taking the rest of the week to enjoy my cigars! Might as well celebrate new opportunities right? Give me your suggestions. What would you smoke to celebrate your liberation from the workforce?:D:D:D

As for tonight, I decided on a La Riqueza #4. :dr

Sorry about the bad news. I smoked an Oliva Serie G Maduro 7x50 today at work. I bought a box of these last week and decided today was a good day to have one. It was really good. I highly recommend it.

If I were out of work and had some time on my hands, I think every day, at least once, I'd stick my hand in the humi, with eyes closed, and smoke the first stick I yanked out. Surprise yourself, relax, and enjoy. Maybe take some notes and do some comparisons. You might even "rediscover" a great smoke that way.

Good luck on finding a new job - but might as well make the most of the time off! :tu

Sorry about the job. You definitely have the right attitude though. The very best to you in the future.:tu

I agree, surprise yourself and enjoy. Good luck finding a job, with your attitude you'll do great.

Sorry to hear that bro.

Cigar smokes for the rest of the week?
Oliva Serie V
La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro #5
Joya De Nicaraugua
Camcho Triple Maduro

These oughta help forget about the old job :D

Sorry to hear about your situation. I've been there myself. Romeo y Julieta 1875 is always a great celebration smoke for me. Enjoy and good luck.

:ss :w :ss

Sorry about your job man, I like the idea of reaching deep into the humi with your eyes closed. All the best, hope you find something soon.

I got laid off two months ago and I bought a bottle of Scotch and two nice cigars within an hour of leaving.

I smoked one cigar immediately, drank the scotch while looking for a job and now will smoke the second cigar on the day of starting the new job.

I started that new job last monday but have been busy but will smoke that second cigar today.

It's all good.. you'll find another job and as luck has it, most of the time better than the original (it was that way for me).

Smoke an Opus X and then, A DPG Cuban classic and then, A WOAM and then, a White Owl Grape and then a Creamosa....Get a Bottle of Patron some limes and some salt and go nuts..........:chk:chk:chk:chk:chk

If you have or can find any, the Tatuaje West Coast is now spot on for flavor.

They seemed to go through a sick period for five or six months, but the one I smoked this past Monday was the best TWC I have smoked.

Take care and good luck.
Ken

It sucks to loose a job, but it's a new beginning so don't sell yourself short. Smoke the best U got you'll feel better for it.

I feel for you. It's a crazy time for mergers and layoff. Keep moving forward.

“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” Alexander Graham Bell.

I'd smoke a RP 10yr to pay homage to the past - Then move to a CAO Soprano- which is a nice Colombian blend to add some attitude in capture the next adventure.

Sorry to hear about the buyout and loss.

How about a La Gloria Cubano series "R" 5, or 6 either would work for me. Good luck :ss

Guys, thanks for all the kind words. They are appreciated more than you know. Yesterday was a very tough and long day. I spent today with my wife and we just slowed things down and lived a little. I knew I could count on my fellow gorillas to help cheer me up. Now for tonights smoke, I randomly pulled out a Illusione mk. One of my favorites!!!

Thanks again brothers!

Being in Monkeytown, you're not too far from The Big Easy. I say come down here and try a smoke from the company that started my treck in cigarland. The Plantation Reserve Robusto from the Cigar Factory of New Orleans was the smoke that got me hooked. Plus the fact that you have to go to the French Quarter to get there means that you can blow off a little steam as well! If you can't make the trip, check them out online.

Actually, I was down there in July with my wife for our 10th anny. I didn't get to try one of those, but I did smoke a few Don Leoncio's. I really enjoyed them and the atmosphere. NO is one of our favorite destinations to visit. I'll check it out next time I'm down that way.
