if it's not adjustable, return it!
they (the manufacturer) tells you "bag tests" aren't necessary because they don't want you to know that their product is giving incorrect readings-they may also tell you that the salt test will kill the electronics in digi hygros-i call BS & so do many members here-i've salt tested multiple hygros, some digi some analog & not one has been on yet-the solution that has worked the best for me is to purchase adjustable (able to be calibrated) digi hygros, made by hygroset, available at heartfelt or cigarmony-then you can be sure that you're getting the correct reading-i set mine when i get them, change the battery once a year & set it again-haven't had any trouble since i started doing this-some members have also had good results w/the western caliber & oregon scientific makes, i've not tried them personally
