New favorite smoke: The Edge

scotton

Maturing Primate
The Edge by Rocky Patel (Toro Corojo)

Best cigar I've had in a month. This isn't a review, because I don't have the palette to review a cigar. I'm just saying that this is my new favorite cigar because it is, and I wish it was cheaper but it's not.

I'll have to try the maduro next.

Yea I like the edge as well, not as strong as advertised imo, but a great cigar none the less. Check out cbid, sometimes you can get them on there for like 2.50 a stick.

edit: btw my favorite is the missile maduro

"check out cbid" you work for the devil, don't you? :ss
Definately like the edge, Maduro a little more than corojo, depending on the mood.

I wish I worked for them. I used to feel like that, but I was sending them my paychecks so something wasn't quite right.

It's a darn good smoke. I was turned onto them at the MB herf and I enjoyed it. I picked up a few last night: 2 maduro and 2 corojo. I, too, perfer the missiles!! :ss

Good choice in smoke. I've really liked the Edge Maddies for some time now. Recently I've had a few missles but it is more common of me to smoke the toro or robusto size. And how about that oily shine??....Not sure if I've seen many other cigars that feel sticky because of the oil...Damn.....

Enjoy :cb.

I love the maduro edge as well. I got hooked at an event at our B&M when the cigar was released. At the time, they were $5 / stick. I bought a box of seconds from CI for $2 / stick. Seconds smoked just as good.

Check out the Gran Habanos #5. Never seen anything like it.
More oil than the Exxon Valdez.:r

I love the Gran Habano #5....recently bought a box of the robustos. The only negative I can pin on it....it has the ugliest piece of ash I think I've every seen on a stogie. :tg It has a nasty color and it forms a random and small misshapen ash. But the cigar tastes great.

And speaking of the Edge.....I just had one today. I've always thought they were a bit overrated. The maddie torp I fired up has a good cigar smell and it looks great. But it has a bit of a one dimensional dark taste to it, IMHO. Reminds me of the LGC maddies. Tastes like chewing dark roasted coffee beans.

Do a search in here and over in the Non habanos review section. There is a lot of information on these. I like them a lot, they are a good smoke. They can be had at more reasonable prices, you just have to look. I recommend you try Holts, they have seconds which are excellent. I also recommend you try Famous Smoke, their prices are good also. The Maduro missiles are among my favorite non cuban cigars.

The maduros have been a favorite of mine latley. I didnt find them to be super strong, just full of flavor. Might have to stop by the old B&M and give a corojo a shot. :pp

Big fan here as well, I tend to prefer the Toro Maduro, over any of the others. There is just something about it, and really a pretty reasonably price cigar IMHO. They do make too big a deal of “Professional Smokers Only” and “Smoke while sitting” – then they came out with the lite, I still don’t fully understand that, nor do I like those. – I strongly agree with the comments on the Gran Habano those have one of the best looking wrappers out there - dark, oily, & shiny another great smoke for the $$.
Well there’s my :2

I bought a 5'er of the maduro missiles from Famous-Smoke that are in the humi right now. Still havn't tried one yet, as I wanted to let them rest for a bit. With all this talk though, I'm starting to feel twitchy.... :ss

Lovin the Edge Maduro Missle.

Holt's sells the Edge "off-color" These are ones that were rolled the same but did not pass inspection to go into the box. A little cheaper.

mmmmmm..I love chewing on dark roasted coffee beans..:ss

I have a couple buddies that have smoked everything out there, and they choose the edge now, almost every time. I'm dying to try one, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

The Edge is a great cigar!! I like the Maddy the best, but I've tried vthem all and have not been let down yet :ss

Gran Habano #5 is another onw of my fav for the $5 range. There is a unique taste in the #5 I can't put my finger on...but it's goooooooood :dr

(and you're right Greenwit...that is one ugly ash)

I enjoy the edge maduros. They're an excellent stick in the $3 range. I just got the following in the mail yesterday:

bundle (20) edge maduro torpedos
box (25) edge maduro missiles
