New Nicaraguan 3000 "Varnished" From Famous

Famous must be trying to emulate the Cubans with these coming out with a "varnished" version.

Check out the pic in the new catalog. I'm no expert but, I think It's the box that is supposed to be varnished.

Looks like they soaked them in cooking oil. :r

Gross... It looks like they are brushed with something nasty. Wouldnt want to smoke something that looks like those!

I think its a glaze, similiar to a krispy kreme donut. Either way it looks like it is liable to explode when lit.
 
That's a nice clearcoat over urethane, buffed to a fine sheen with some mild rubbing compund or 2000 grit sandpaper. Mmmm, tasty :r :tu
 
maybe they varnished them for long-term display purposes......

kinda like the plastic cakes and pies under the glass dome at woolworth's cafe.....





...... I miss woolworth's cafe.....
