New Oliva's Cant do this...

Ever since Papajohn introduced me to the older style Oliva's, namely the Bold Ole and others I had my eye out for them at any B&m's I stopeed into. I found half a box of cloth bandd Ole's a while back and smoked the firt one tonight, it was fantastic and very different from any of the newer Oliva's that I've had. With that said, can a new Oliva hold its ash like this? :ss

Thanks for the enlightening Papajohn!

Quite amazing. I've never had a cloth-banded Oliva, and while I'm sure the current lines couldn't hold one like that, they are effing delicious nontheless. The Serie G ranks among my list of top cigars.

No, the new Olivas are rolled too loose.
I've had plenty of the newer ones and
I've never had the ash stay like that on any of mine.

Looks like a great smoke.

Love the spit puddle in the background. Classy :r

Haha I was wondering who would notice :) Althought to be fair its actually oil spray/puke from the yard equipment I was trying to get started. Needless to say I blew a line and had oil dry everywhere, hard to see in the low light.

Thanks for the 'heads up'. I am a huge fan of the new Olivas. I will have to keep an eye out for some of the cloth banded ones.

Blast from the past. On Saturday I smoked of the the few remaining from the Sancho Collection.

It was an interesting, dynamic smoke. Very spicy and peppery for the age
